Great to see Sky bragging on an advert about taking Skysportsnews away from Freeview viewers – terrific stuff.
August 14, 2010 at 12:03 #312730I thought was a bit bizarre to put it mildly.

A much more improved performance from The Morning line this morning, really enjoying it especially with Richard Hughes and his viewpoint on things.
Great job.
Would also like to say Skysports have a cheek advertising their service during the hours of the morning where the Horse Racing audience are, like they ever advertise horse racing at all on their channel.
I’ll agree with all the Sky comments,I can’t justify the prices anymore, I used to have it when it was 30 pounds a month for everything, now it’s 50 quid!!!
That said, at least they have racing news on their text service.
August 21, 2010 at 07:34 #313961I like ‘The Morning Line’, however, switching on and seeing Jeremy Kyle on the show, and individual i simply cannot stand, the same goes for his ‘programme’, today’s show just lost appeal.
August 21, 2010 at 07:53 #313962In total harmony with you on that Gaz’s.
An obvious and crude attempt by the Morning line to appeal to the lowest common denominator.August 21, 2010 at 08:30 #313976I can’t agree with this slating of Jeezer.
He is an owner, a race sponsor and a huge racing enthusiast.
As I’ve mentioned on here before, I do know he is a nightmare on that tv programme – always shouting and that but shouldn’t he be judged on what he begins to racing.
I thought Eve Johnson Houghton had a few interesting things to say. I’ve always liked her as a trainer as her horses always seem to be trying and she bangs in a few decent winners.
I hope her horse, Fontley, does the business for her today
August 21, 2010 at 08:37 #313979Eve confirming what AP and others have said about "name" jockeys riding for smaller stables. Quite enjoying listening to Jeremy Kyle too – agree with Pete here. A racing nut.
August 21, 2010 at 10:00 #313988What a shambles the Morning Line is. If Big Mac could mention Harrow and Lord Snooty once more, it is incredibly repetitive, I actively turn off now whereas before would have it in the background. The clear source of entertainment for Big Mac with Luck may have been funny for about a year after Luck started appearing on Channel 4, but now is just boring.
I cannot understand why decent, up-and-coming presenters/enthusiasts such as Luck/Machin/Hoiles cannot move from the occasional Channel 4 comfort zone appearance and ditch the old guard once and for all (akin to what the excellent Lydia did with the BBC).
McCririck is well covered elsewhere, but the likes of Oaksey and Goode saw the writing on the wall as far as their involvement in the frontline shows was concerned, McCririck doesn’t and it is getting embarassing. Granted, in amongst the utterly tedious, prejudice, guff, he can still deliver some good journalism but no-one can possibly either anymore take him seriously (no surprise maybe) as find him funny. I’m afraid from what I watched this morning none of the others even merit a mention – sorry.
August 21, 2010 at 10:21 #313992Cant stand J kyle dont care if he is a racing nut was more interested in his baiting of M Cattermole and Emma Spencer and then MC suddenly starting to refer to her as Mrs Spencer,it was interesting to see JKyle performing his day job on the morning line.
August 21, 2010 at 11:08 #313997Tuned in eagerly awaiting the Mike Cattermole/Emma Spencer double lie detector tests and was very disappointed

On a serious note they generally fail to tackle the big issues – and who can blame them, it’s free to air, one of the few times racing gets on mainstream telly so washing the dirty laundry is hardly going to be good for business.
August 21, 2010 at 11:33 #313999Any reason why Kyle was on again? Do Channel 4 really think he is interesting and amusing enough to justify another appearance?
August 21, 2010 at 12:31 #314008Who does Kyle think he is slating the scroungers and layabouts. Surely he must realize that but for their heroic efforts in recycling the state handouts there would be even less levy and racings’ funding would be in a worse position.
He really should think before encouraging people to work, they would not have the time to support racing day in day out if they had to work for a living.

August 21, 2010 at 18:13 #314069I didn’t mind Jeremy Kyle until he started appearing on the Morning Line. He is so up himself it is irritating, and I hope I don’t turn on the tele the next time he is a guest. Furthermore, he has nothing interesting to say about racing, Eve Johnston Haughton was much more interesting. These high profile owners are a pain in the neck. IMO
