I don’t really want to bet one so lowly rated, but I do like Ravenscraig Castle. Fairly exposed, but he’s caught my eye a couple of times this year. Don’t think he’s got the right profile for this, but I know I want to bet him. Trying to talk myself out of it
Also of interest are…….
Aucunrisque
Gentleman Bill
Homme Public
Slugger…………with the 33’s for Homme Public very difficult for me to leave. I have left it though, but he’s at head of shortlist right now with Ravenscraig
No bet yet, but this pair both 33’s
Homme Public
Ravenscraig CastleFebruary 15, 2025 at 02:00 #1720568Looks like Wise Eagle is going to run in it. So I’ll be sitting in the garden shouting to Mike ‘ what’s happening’ ( which is what happened when he ran at Kelso today). Pity we’re not going to it this year. Then again I would probably be an even bigger wreck if I was there.
February 24, 2025 at 18:19 #1721273Florida Dreams will surely land a decent handicap at some point and it’s likely to be something like this. I’ll chance him at 12s.
February 24, 2025 at 18:45 #1721277Despite being one of only two who are drifting, finally went with Ravenscraig Castle. So tempted to take the 33’s on Homme Public, but he has entries elsewhere.
The other one I’m looking at in addition to the early shortlist ones, is Petrol Head.
Ravenscraig Castle 40’s EW
February 24, 2025 at 20:32 #1721288Last years winner for me. Cracking Rhapsody at 14’s. Ran some creditable races in the greatwood and a win at Kelso.
Poor run at Windsor but I can forgive him that on an idiosyncratic track. 1lb below last years mark. That will do for me.
February 24, 2025 at 20:53 #1721290He’s 13lbs higher than last year’s mark, Tiz?
February 26, 2025 at 02:01 #1721398Well done take your time!! I was clearly testing you all! 1lb his last run is obvs what I meant!
Collect your prize from the office! But there’s no office!
February 28, 2025 at 18:40 #1721477Vischio ew 5 places
February 28, 2025 at 19:21 #1721479Love it, Mike!
It would be crazy to go ew 4 places!February 28, 2025 at 19:41 #1721482Could easily have been a pin job, for this.
Plumped for Cracking Rhapsody
And added (16’s antepost)
Gentleman Bill 20s, for a small wager.
February 28, 2025 at 20:27 #1721493Can’t say the training partnership is my favourite, but I’m keen on Wilful here. Won well in novice company, held at Taunton but latest behind Altobelli suggests he’s going the right way. He’s a keen going sort so drop in trip andbe the pace that’s likely to on here will help. My late father would have been all over this one…, his treasured 04 form in a decent handicap!
March 1, 2025 at 10:25 #1721530Old Gregorian for me. The form from his runs worked at well. Might be better of a bit further, but worth a shot.
Old Gregorian 18/1 EW
March 1, 2025 at 10:54 #1721536Ravenscraig Castle wasn’t a massive fancy, but still expected him to run.
Was torn between Slugger and Aucunrisque as replacements, but not really mad on anything, so went with one I’ve bet a few times, and who’s always let me down, and really just for interest
N’Golo 50’s EW 6Pls/66’s
March 1, 2025 at 11:57 #1721554Taken Milldam here ew at 75s in Lads boost. Big price with jockey in form and he knows how to win.
March 1, 2025 at 12:33 #1721564Petrol Head 20s first time for new stable.
The more I know the less I understand.
March 1, 2025 at 13:33 #1721580Mullins horse looks like a plot job but I’m also like Bobby playing N’Golo , he’s not got many miles on the clock for a 10 year old and a decent market and headgear make him the e.w play , I’ve played 3 places and 7 places
