I think it’s NOT John Whitaker. I think it IS Graham Fletcher. Don’t know the other guy but quick Google Images search entitled ‘Hickstead commentators’ reveals it MIGHT be Douglas Bunn – owner of the Hickstead course.

Mr Bunn died last month.

Graham Fletcher was very successtul with a good horse called Buttevant Boy about thirty years ago and I think Mike Tucker rode in an olympic eventing team and came mightily close to winning Badminton in his time. Both are top class horsemen with a great knowledge (Fletcher writes a strongly opinionated and well informed column in Horse and Hound which I enjoy). I’ve been lucky to chat to them both at events down the years and you could not meet nicer chaps.
The clue might be in the filename ‘JohnWhitaker3.jpg’. Not unless the guy who made this thread gave the picture this title as an assumption ?
