January 14, 2011 at 18:47 #335856Good to see the picture of MG out of his box on the RP site.
January 14, 2011 at 19:15 #335861This is just awful, isn’t it..every time I see his name I panic thinking something bad has happened, and every time I read about him I start blubbing.
January 14, 2011 at 19:43 #335865What lovely photos, and a really positive update from the connections.
My thoughts are with him and them. I think that we way that they have kept everyone updated is very thoughtful.
God bless Monets and hope that this improvemnt continues and sees him through to an enjoyable and deserved retirementJanuary 14, 2011 at 20:52 #335874Great to see the photos – let’s hope he makes a recovery and has a long and happy retirement.
January 16, 2011 at 17:29 #336268The owner Mr Wesley Yates stated that the old boy has had another good day – thats 5 consecutive days, good days, on reduced medication.
Lets hope that he has finally turned the corner.
Come on old fella !!January 18, 2011 at 19:21 #336586Further improvement today, with the next step being to gradually reduce the wedge in his shoes.
Mr Wesley Yates apparently overruled 2 separate veterinary opinions that the old boy should be put down.
I for one salute you sir, and hope that your faith and patience is rewarded and that Monets Garden enjoys his retirement.
If there is an owners awared e.g Cartier, I hope that this chap receives it.January 18, 2011 at 20:21 #336598Well said Coggy. If only all owners of racehorses were like David Wesley Yates. Horses like Contact Dancer and Venn Ottery come to mind. OK they weren’t grade 1 horses like Monet’s Garden, but they still earned good prize money and gave their owners good days out at the races only to be thrown in the scrap heap.
January 19, 2011 at 11:36 #336673Quite right. The situation that his owner and trainer find themselves in is the hardest one of all. How far do you go to give the horse a chance before deciding that it is cruel for him to keep suffering. Terrible decision to make. If only they could talk.
Fingers crossed that Monet’s keeps improving and gets that retirement life he so richly deserves. Gave us all a lot of priceless memories.
January 21, 2011 at 18:05 #337063Apparently the old boy is delighting his vets with his continued improvement.
Mr Wesley Yates stated that if it continues he may be able to think about him returning to Greystoke by the end of the month.
Heres hoping that he makes it back there – I have no doubt that he will get a great reception.
Touch wood , if it all comes true, anyone fancy a stable visit, in due course, if the connections are okay with it ? - AuthorPosts
