July 26, 2024 at 18:43 #1702744My cliff horse Orazio steps up to 7 furlongs after flying home in the last furlong of the Wokingham last time.
Taken the 7/1. Today’s the day!

”Must resist do not back Metal Merchant AGAIN ”I suspect Steptoe and Son ownership, its owned by a scrap metal group, who also have a horse called Ferrous running at York tomorrow.. Ferrous is a non magnetic metal..hmm
What was the name of Steptoes Horse?July 26, 2024 at 20:52 #1702764I’m surprised we haven’t seen ORAZIO tried at 7f yet, he runs like he should get it and pedigree suggests it’ll be fine. Well backed now, I took 7/1 an hour ago and is 5/1 same firm now.
July 27, 2024 at 09:21 #1702814I think essentially with these big field straight track handicaps at Ascot (although this isn’t anywhere near a full field) you need a horse who is fit and well on the day and gets the luck with the draw/track position/in running etc… You don’t tend to get many these days who will go on progressing into group company and they all just face each other every couple of weeks and its just whoever gets all of that on the day. On that basis I’ll chuck a couple of quid at Ropey Guest e/w 33/1 in a place who has plenty of form in these sort of races to suggest he’s capable of winning one. Plenty of them could win this in reality.
July 27, 2024 at 09:33 #1702816Billyjoh (8-1 ew 6 places) and Carrytheone (7-1 ew 6 places) were 2nd and 3rd to English Oak in the Buckingham Palace Stakes over course and distance. English Oak is joint favourite for the group 2 Lennox Stakes next week. So they will do for me.
July 27, 2024 at 09:55 #1702821After much deliberation I am steering clear of Metal Merchant which for the benefit of Wilts will probably hose up. Jumping ship to New Image.

Felt that i needed anotherJuly 27, 2024 at 12:47 #1702876I’ll stick with Northern Express at 20s although trap 1 might make things harder

Well handicapped no doubt and was very unlucky to Ascot a couple runs back. Missed the break and spent 2 furlongs looking for a gap which never came, he might not of won but would of not been far away. Appeared to disappoint last time but on reflection the one that beat him looks a very nice horse who was obviously very well handicapped.
Bless Him
If he repeats his run in the Victoria cup and gets a bit of luck in running could well run into a place.
July 27, 2024 at 15:04 #1702900well done s.cecil

July 27, 2024 at 15:38 #1702908I should have put a bit up but I was on Northern Express. If anyone wants to check he was my
nap in all my competitions. Apologies for being lazy and well done Sarge, what a cracking dayJuly 27, 2024 at 16:11 #1702932I did wonder if you backed him when he won BigG as i had noticed you’ve followed him in a few times before.
