Minella Class is a good horse. But doubt whether he has the speed for this. Also ridden by a conditional unable to claim his 3 lbs. 8/1 was a good bet, 13/2 is only fair odds in my opinion.
I make For Non Stop marginal favourite on his form with Al Ferof and have backed him at 11/4, with a saver on Cue Card 3/1. Do like Walkon as a horse, just too short at around 2/1.

Not so sure Walkon should be favourite here.
He was impressive enough on his return but the race fell right into his lap.
Either Tom Scudamore is one very bad judge of pace or Notus De La Tour showed distinct signs of having had enough for the season. Granted he finished second by default in Ireland but that means very little as Bog Warrior departed early and the rest were very low class.
In the former race, despite dictating the pace, he came under pressure before turning to face the 4th last fence and was a sitting duck from there on in. Zaynar simply resents being in a fight and spat out the dummy yet again. Walk on jump well travelled well but was getting 8lbs and this is going to be a whole lot tougher.
Hard horse to rule out but he may get outclassed here by one horse.
Minella Class, defeat of Red Merlin looks good on paper but in truth he’s as one paced as they come . No doubt he’ll flatter to deceive but he wont win in this class.
For Non Stop’s chance and price is based on running Al Ferof close at Sandown. I could be wrong but I’d take that form with a pinch of salt. Al Ferof is a funny horse has a chink in his armour and I think he could just have a I can’t be bothered today streak in him him. If you ran the race again tomorrow and he was in a different mood he’d probably win by a fence in that company.
That leaves Cue Card who has been a bit of a rougue in his career to date. He completely spat out the dummy in the Bula last season and continued to break hearts almost every time he has run.
All over the winner last time out he could be accused of chucking it gain but nothing could be further from the truth. Tizzard made a balls of it and for once Cue Card when looking beaten fought like a tiger all the way to the line.
Maybe he’ll return to his old ways but I reckon he’s starting to grow up and his last race was the first signs of that and today he’ll win this with ease.

Any horse could win, think walkon is too short, question marks over the other horses so minella class is good value at 11/2 IMO.

Well done Hurdy. Impossible to say what would have happened had Minella Class stayed up but he looked to be going very well. His jumping improved as the pace quickened and he’ll have a leading chance in the Jewson I think.

Shame Minella class fell, looked to have a very good chance especially as all the other horses were making mistakes near the end, defo one to follow.Watching Walkon today made me think of all the horses that are racing today due to stem cell treatment
. Was thinking it when I watched Noland in that Irish race as well. I was hoping that Walkon was ok when his jumping started to fall apart, but he wasn’t changing legs at all so I assume he was.

For a 4 horse race they weren’t hanging about and the jumping of both Walkon and Cue Card left a lot to be desired in the closing stages, highlighted by the fact For Non Stop who looked well beat when he made a lesser mistake looked to be finishing with a flurry but that was more down to Cue Card ballooning the last and losing momentum and Walk on back peddling. Alan King is bound to be very disappointed with that run.
As far as Minella Class goes I wouldn’t be rushing to back him in the Jewson but don’t let me put you off but Im sure I heard a while back they think he’s a Mildmay horse in the making. I dare say the could run him in both but Nicky is not adverse to keeping one or two back for Aintree. I’d keep my ear to the ground and scan the web before jumping in on that one. MC’s biggest assets are definitely travelling and jumping and not speed. David Bass asked him for some huge jumps today as the race warmed up because he wanted to get to the front, dictate the pace from there on in and make it as much a stamina test as possible. If he had who knows?
Really? David got some huge jumps out of him Moe although he was making a bit too much use of him.. Not easy when the boss tells you to be up there all the way and you got a train to catch and you’re driving a Tuk Tuk.
