I very much like Caldwell Potter for this race.
I know he only won a handicap last time but I think he appreciated the better ground and he jumped beautifully. If he gets into a good rhythm, he could be hard to beat.
Handstands looks a short price for a horse with all his best form on soft or heavy ground.
April 3, 2025 at 22:35 #1725731Looks a good race this one, I’m of the same opinion, I think the PN camp have put a lot into Caldwell Potter and providing he’s able to get into a similar rhythm as at Cheltenham he could be difficult to beat. Only worry is he won’t get things quite his own way in front. I’ve gone in at 4s 🤞
April 3, 2025 at 23:23 #1725742Took 5/1 for Caldwell Potter with Hills earlier. All the money has been for Dancing City to keep the Mullins bandwagon rolling along.
April 4, 2025 at 11:27 #1725816Chucked Caldwell Potter in a double with Savator Mundi.
A bit wary of the Cheltenham bounce factor, so main single bet isQuai De Bourbon 14s
April 4, 2025 at 11:37 #1725819I’m on Quai de Bourbon ew too Wilts. Very interested in him for the Grand National next year. I scorned his jumping in his beginners but he has improved a lot- he made two bad mistakes at Cheltenham but even when he unseated then he didn’t seem too badly unbalanced himself and seemed unfazed.

April 4, 2025 at 13:56 #1725850Well done CAS and to anyone else who backed him.
April 4, 2025 at 13:58 #1725851wd winners. come jump racing, where anything can happen. but not in a good way. Bring on the craven meeting. #Salty
April 4, 2025 at 16:52 #1725916Well done those on Caldwell. He’s definitely a horse to look forward to next year
April 4, 2025 at 20:22 #1725986Interesting to hear Ruby saying Jordans was unlucky. If he hadn’t made the mistake that knocked him back, he probably would have been brought down when Dancing City fell at the next!
April 5, 2025 at 07:02 #1726054I enjoyed this performance. I am an old sentimentalist but the Potter reminds me of an old front running grey horse from long ago who jumped like a stag and never gave in . They say there’s no romance in modern money driven Mullins dominated NH racing, and his owners are no paupers , but this horse fulfilling John Hales’ dream and winning the 26 Gold Cup as he watches from the Owners Stand in the sky would be a pretty good story.
April 5, 2025 at 09:19 #1726079It would be nice to think so but I have my doubts about him needing an extra 2 furlongs. It was slow motion after the last fence yesterday, although he must have paid for the strong early pace.
The one thing the horse can do well is jump, fast and accurate. That is going to be a powerful asset wherever he goes next.
I would like to see him in the King George. He would have to improve a lot on the bare form he showed yesterday but I think he can.
