Shan Blue looks a rock solid e/w proposition to me. Back up to 3m on a flat track, good to soft ground, all in his favour. I don’t think the jockey knew Envoi Allen had fallen in the Marsh, so pressed on far too early thinking it was his only chance of winning, and subsequently ruined his chances. Excellent jumper.

Absolutely delighted to see him at 7/1 and have had a decent bet e/w.

Chantry House all the way for me and hope he can turn into a star.

Had the winner but I think he was lucky. I believe the faller would have won if he had stayed on his feet.

It seems churlish to say it after a winner but that looked like a dire Grade 1 to me. Chantry House looked out on his feet going to the last, Shan Blue was well beaten and the Tizzard duo were awful.

Sounding like Gordon Brown talking after Nick Clegg here, but I agree. The faller was certainly going better and jumping better.

It wouldve been close in the closing stages i think. Chantry runs a bit behind the bridle but does find. Maybe he was fortunate but as they say, we will never know.

Chantry House’s run looked similar to his Cheltenham race, needs chivvying but keeps producing and the trip seemed no problem. Not sure it would have been easy but I think he would have seen off Espoir De Romay. Shan Blue paid for trying to take on the leader too early.

I agree it was a poor G1 and Chantry didn’t look to be utterly cruising ready to pick the leader off at leisure whilst smoking a fag or anything…but on the other hand he looked fresh as a daisy walking in to the winners enclosure swishing his tail, so perhaps he hadn’t got anywhere near switching to the reserve tank when the winner came down.

Oh well. I’ll keep backing him. Being lucky is a handy trait to have.

Id have had the faller as odds on before he came to grief

Chantry House is clearly a good horse but there’s nothing iv seen that makes me think hes a star

    He jumps ok
    He travels ok
    He stays ok

Hes just been ok so far
