Had a little look at the first two days entries.
I think this season’s novices have been very average, and with that in mind if Chianti Classico can repeat his Ultima performance he should go very close in this race. Bet 365’s 8/1 isn’t fantastic, but it’s better than everyone else. I would be quite surprised if he drifted.
Given I cashed out on Latenightpass he’s the only one I have had a dabble on.
April 6, 2024 at 22:18 #1689258The 20s with b365 for Broadway Boy was too tempting, so I took that, although win only instead of ew to limit the loss when he goes to the Freebooter handicap the next day instead of here.
April 7, 2024 at 00:22 #1689265That’s a fair price Grass, and can totally see the appeal
In the end though, I’ve taken the 8’s on Giovinco. Thought he ran on in The Brown Advisory, and I think he’s worth chancing on what we’ve seen of him
Giovinco 8’s
April 9, 2024 at 20:28 #1689427Bit more fantastic than I thought as it looks like Chianti Classico could even go off favourite.
Heart Wood won very well at Leopardstown, but is relatively weak in the market, not jocked up, and stepping up a half mile on testing ground. Perhaps they should have gone 2m4f?
April 10, 2024 at 19:51 #1689565With you VTC, just a small bet on GIOVINCO for myself. A very difficult race to get a grasp of, hopefully course form plays the biggest hand.
GIOVINCO 9/1
April 12, 2024 at 11:34 #1689932Strange how Chianti Classico having been supported has become very weak in the last 24 hours. I hope he hasn’t had an issue that we haven’t been told about. No obvious reason why his chance has been diminished.
April 12, 2024 at 14:14 #1689975Disappointed with Chianti Classico. The drift proved correct. He has jumped very well, but looked very slow at the business end. Don’t think they have too quick as the field was bunched in the straight. My inclination would be to think that he hasn’t reproduced that Cheltenham win, albeit in a handicap. I think Heart Wood might well have won the two and a half.
I took the 16/1 the winner for the Gold Cup. I think he has plenty on to beat Galopin Des Champs, but there isn’t that much else around. I think he is a stronger stayer, and possibly a better horse, than Fact To File. It wouldn’t surprise me if Fact To File ends up at a shorter trip. I have taken him at 18/1 for the Ryanair.
