Tough one to call. The Gimcrack can be viewed that way Ian or the view could be Royal Scotsman was well beaten and he was ahead of Blackbeard and Persian Force at Ascot. I know Blackbeard has progressed but Marshman has plenty of scope to do so.
I was hoping the market wouldn’t see it that way and that Marshman would be readily available at 4/1. Alas, he is the current fav around 2’s so I’ll keep an eye on things and hope for a drift.September 23, 2022 at 23:20 #1615615Race to watch for me.
The Gimcrack form might be very good, but I don’t think the Richmond winner ran to form in it tbh.

Potential for Marshman and Blackbeard to cut each others throats too”Never but a dream is also a nutjob front runner so they could go a proper gallop
Mischief magic could be the one to benefit, I’m just not sure he’s up to this class
I’d have been very confident in his stablemate noble style powering home to pick these up
One to mull over
September 24, 2022 at 01:08 #1615629Marshman doesn’t have to lead i don’t think. EW double with Trillium for a bit of interest.
September 24, 2022 at 05:09 #1615630Marshman for me , potentially very smart for a yard that’s had a great year
September 24, 2022 at 15:04 #1615718Well, shiver me timbers!
September 24, 2022 at 15:04 #1615719Blackbeard does a passable impression of an absolute nutcase down at the start, but in the actual race he settled better than anything and for me that’s his best performance yet.
Really good 2yo that.

September 24, 2022 at 15:06 #1615721Wd winners. Won easy. Marshman, like the Hannon filly race before, didn’t relax.

Blackbeard to conquer the World
September 24, 2022 at 15:08 #1615724All that, and still only the second best two year old colt in the stable.
September 24, 2022 at 15:13 #1615725Hope so, Gladders.
It’s that whole Arkle/Flyingbolt thing.
Only 2yos.

If you were an owner, which would you rather win?
September 24, 2022 at 16:57 #1615744Blackbeard wouldn’t stay a mile so wouldn’t have won the sales race
