Looked like a heavy shower during that last race, hopefully it was just that and not steady heavy rain

The official ground was Good today all the way through the card. Anyone know whether it’s on the slow side of Good? Siskin out to 11/2. Tempted to go in again.

Adding MONARCH OF EGYPT at 10/1 ew to go with THREAT.

MONARCH OF EGYPT is still progressing at a rate of knots and can be confidently expected to improve past SISKIN here which has to give him a strong chance of winning this race. 10/1 is far too big.

Frenchy, there still saying it should be on the faster side of good

i fancied mums tipple but that interview with hannon was extremely
Off putting (thanks for pointing that in my direction potato) i like the fav but id nearly always oppose a french horse in a group 1 outside of there home tracks, golden horde looks way, way overpriced based on his run behind the fav, dont think that run warrants being 10x the price on totally different ground/track, siskin the main bet though, versatile and id be surprised if he didnt love the track, better ground, hard to think he wont be bang there

    Threat has 0 chance

    Siskin @11/2 and golden horde e/w @25/1

At 16’s, I have to be with Lope Y Fernandez. Has to step up again from his G3 the last time, but I think he can, and it looks a fair EW Price.

This is a belter of a race first and foremost.

Not sure I agree with the betting at all though. In what world is Siskin an 11/2 shot. And each way bet to absolutely nothing on a horse I’d have about 11/4. Fill ya boots.

I couldn’t back Mums Tipple here at all. How many times do we see sensational performances against Trees and then the horse gets beat at a shirt price in a group 1/2 next time out. It happens far to often for me to even contemplate backing him.

The french horse looks seriously talented but is somewhat short to me in a race with this much quality having had to travel over from France. If he wins, I’ll be fine with that is he just isn’t the sort of horse I want to be betting for this field. If I’m wrong, that’s the way it goes sometimes but his profile just isn’t for me.

Threat is surely overpriced at 10s as an Each Way poke. His consistency is unquestionable and at 10s, with it likely he will be good enough to place at the minimum, he is an each other ya bet for me.

    Siskin @ 11/2 Each Way
    Threat @ 10/1 Each Way

I wouldn’t be having a bet in the race personally as I rarely do with 2 year olds but the way the track was riding yesterday with 4 of the 7 winners pretty much making all (they may have been the best in the race anyway), I wouldn’t be in a hurry to lay Mum’s Tipple because that’s basically what he did at York and Ascot and even ignoring the level of opposition from York the form with Molatham from Ascot is working out very well. Should be a cracking race.

Delighted to see the ground still on the faster side of good for Siskin. Can’t resist chipping away at the 11/2s and 5/1s still on offer. Earthlight is drifting, think A Fabre has a doubt about whether he will handle the track as well. Having had a good review through the others, I’m going to also go with both the AOB horses.

Monarch of Egypt is overpriced as I said earlier on this thread, have missed the 10s, but on at 8s and a gamble is beginning to show some signs. Only 3 starts, could easily improve past Siskin, I would have them both very near the top of the market.

I will do a saver on Lope Y Fernandez, as is always worth doing with AOB apparent second strings.

    Siskin 4/1 & 5/1 & 11/2
    Monarch of Egypt 8/1
    Saver : Lope Y Fernandez 16/1

I have no doubt that THREAT beats MUMS TIPPLE for fun at home and fully expect the class of the fast improving THREAT to beat his stable mate confortably today. He also comfprtably holds GOLDEN HORDE and can be confidently expected to beat him here.

Aiden O’Brien never rushes his 2yos and he isnt sending MONARCH OF EGYPT to take on SISKIN for a 3rd time because he wants a 3rd beating he is coming to beat him. SISKINS improvement has probably levelled now and we have seen his best. MONARCH OF EGYPT has lots more to come and can be confidently expected to brush SISKIN aside this time.
Ryan Moore would assumingly have had the choice between MOE and LOPE Y FERNANDEZ and I prefer the profile of MOE.

KING NEPTUNE and SUMMER SANDS stand no chance so for me there is a short list of EARTHLIGHT, MONARCH OF EGYPT and THREAT. All 3 are great 2yos and I wont be surprised if any of these win though there are question marks against EARTHLIGHT so at 10/1 MONARCH OF EGYPT and 12/1 THREAT I fancy my chances here.

    I must be missing something

Cant understands why siskin is such a big price

The ground blunted his turn of foot last time, should be much more at home today

Ger Lyons says he’s never had him look so good as well, makes no sense. Pile in!

I can understand all the misgivings raised on here about Mums Tipple, he hasn’t run
against anything of the calibre here, but I’ve watched his York race umpteen times,
and I can’t be anything other than very impressed. Without doubt this is a huge step
up in class, but he won the York race in a very good time without even being asked
a question. I suppose I’m going on gut instinct, and just on what I’ve seen, but
sometimes if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…..it’s a Group 1 winner

    Mums Tipple 5/2

Also having a bit on Threat at 10/1

I would be keen on Threat making the frame here. He is an ew selection at 10-1.

    I don’t think it was a strange decision as it got it’s best RPR at 6f, it had regressed against Pinatubo at 7f in 5 weeks Pinatubo had found 6 1/2 lengths, also looked like it weakened a bit in the final furlong in the goodwood race at 7f, perhaps 6f suits at this time.. it is also a stiff 6f today, also O’briens comments;

O’Brien said: “I thought Lope Y Fernandez looked very happy back at six when winning at the Curragh. He seemed to really enjoy himself over that trip.”

I’ve gone with Earthlight but took some of the 16s (actually 10’s for 5 places) on this for bet365 E/W extra
