Following a car crash which fatally killed the driver who was a bloodstock agent.
RIP Mr Corby.
Full and speedy recovery to Mick.

TRAINER Mick Channon is recovering in hospital today following a car crash on the M1 last night, in which bloodstock agent Tim Corby was killed.
Channon is believed to have suffered a broken jaw, but his injuries are not life-threatening. His son, Jack, is believed to have rib injuries.
Corby, who bought this year’s Champion Hurdle hero Katchit for 15,500gns, is understood to have been the driver of the vehicle involved in the fatal accident.
August 28, 2008 at 12:47 #178434Hello,
Terrible news…hope Mick gets better quickly, and sympathy to Mr Corby’s family.
I believe Mick’s brother was killed in a farming accident, a tragedy he witnessed. Being involved in another fatal incident will be devastating for Mick…speedy recovery in both body and mind.
regards,
doyley

August 28, 2008 at 15:02 #178444Terrible news. Heartfelt sympathy to Tim Corby’s family. What a tragic loss.
I’m fairly sure Tim was involved in the Katchit syndicate, one of whom post on here.

I echo the sentiments already expressed on this thread. Mr Corby was indeed the agent that purchased Katchit – I believe for around 15,000.
Tragic loss and terrible news. I hope Mick and his son have a speedy recovery and that the mental scars are not too long in the mind.

Tim was indeed the person who sold us Katchit… he’s not part of the syndicate but was our guest at both the Triumph and Champion wins. He still loves the horse and is convinced that Katchit recognised him as "Dad" after the Triumph.
I’ll remember the guy who cried with pride at both races (like it really was his child winning) and again when we watched both races at a party only last month.
A very sad day and my thoughts are with his family and the Channons.
August 28, 2008 at 20:55 #178483So sad. so very very sad. What a loss. My sincere condolences to the Corby family and friends. Makes you appreciate life more doesn’t it.
Get well soon Mick. He must be going through hell with the loss of his friend in the accident so i hope he recovers both physically and mentally. Must be horrific for him
