Check out the form of AMERICAN JOB, unless I’m missing something his form seems streets ahead off the rest of the field yet the RP betting forecast makes him 4th in the betting at 5-1.
If the 8 runners all line up he looks a cast iron EW bet to meComments please

……and break the habit of a lifetime
February 24, 2010 at 20:24 #278884My comment is to suggest you hoover-up the small-money at 8.6 on BetFair if you fancy him.

February 24, 2010 at 20:39 #278888Not a race i would say has anything worth lumping on. An extremely close call indeed. Indeed 6 of the field won on their last outing (American Job being 3rd albeit in a decent Grade 2).
Also with your EW comments id be weary of 1 dropping out and you being down to 2 places.
So not for me, but nonetheless best of luck.

Well you can currently back him to small money at 9.6 on BetFair, which is almost double the price you seem prepared to take. Perhaps it’s time you signed-up?

Maybe Grasshopper…..although I’m not that keen to have the "betting in running" temptation at my fingertips, discipline is probably my main problem in keeping ahead of the game

I’ve just take Ladbrokes 7-1 best price guaranteed to EW starter money, I’m very pleased with that price.
I’ve watched his two runs against Quel Esprit again, he was blown away by QE on the first of these at 3 miles but ran on gamely, next time he improved no end in a better race over 2m4f, again plugging on at the end
Racing Post analysis seems to see it as I see it……Quote
"American Job, a maiden winner over the trip at Cork in November and subsequently beaten three and a half lengths by Quel Esprit at level weights over 3m at that same track, ran a solid race and should be winning again, judged on his effort here. He kept in touch throughout and went third 2 out before finding no extra before the last and then staying on."
I’ll wait till nearer the off before deciding whether to up my stakes, the 8 runners all lining up probably being the deciding factor but I’m going to watch some of the others again too, there are various lines through Scorcher
February 25, 2010 at 09:47 #27897812.5 the win and 3.15 the place now on BF. Seems to be likely to settle around 14/1
Bear in mind the place odds are a guaranteed 3 places I believe, irrespective of withdrawals.February 25, 2010 at 09:54 #27898312.5 the win and 3.15 the place now on BF. Seems to be likely to settle around 14/1
That’s a hell of a price, watch his last two runs and ask yourself what price would Quel Esprit be to win this by 4 or 5 lengths?
February 25, 2010 at 10:14 #278989Quel Esprit beat American Job and Last Draw on the bridle by 4 lengths. I’m not convinced AJ looks a straightfoward ride either but GL with your EW, I’ll check the result later.

Premier Victory also thrashed Last Draw pointless lto, and leaves American Job with a mountain to climb, whichever way you look at it.
I’d much rather be taking the 5/2 about PV’s chance.ps Why isn’t this in the Big Race section?

I’d much rather be taking the 5/2 about PV’s chance. You have a very good point strictly on the book but I think American Job is the improver in the race and I don’t like the way PV’s wins are all in short groups/bursts of time and he’s never won coming off a break and AJ is the value bet
ps Why isn’t this in the Big Race section?
Because I screw up, ditto the spelling error in title…thick fingers hit the i&u together I imagine???

Spot on, but watch how much improvement he made against Quel Esprit next time out.

That is a worry but he seems to find plenty under pressure
but GL with your EW,
Thanks
I’ll check the result later.
