Benveuto Cellini looked a bit special. Del Maro seemed happy enough to
be last for nearly all the race. Made a bit of ground but only finished 4th.
That was a strange run from Del Maro, almost like he just wanted to get a run
into the horse. I would have thought the Stewards might have raised an eye

This could be something or nothing but I have to tell you about this horse running at Chester this afternoon…

When I was at Newmarket on Craven Day I got talking to a really interesting man who rides out for the stable and also has a share in a horse trained by Alan King..He doesn’t have to ride out but loves doing it and getting amongst the horses. He told me he had come racingy on that day to back just one horse in the last race who had been catching pigeons at home. He gave me the name of the horse and told me to keep it under my hat as it was trading around 33/1.

Well the last race came and the horse was backed down to 22/1 and flew out of the stalls leading most of the way..He really went for it..but the uphill finish didn’t suit and he backed peddled in the final furlong to 7th place.
Watch his race if you get a chance he was so enjoying himself. B-)

He’s by FRANKEL out of an Oasis Dream Mare so born in the purple..He was 12/1 last night when I backed him and he’s now down to 6/1 so still an EW shot…. :good:

    4.45 Chester – SUJET (took 12’s) trading around 6/1

Best of luck . An interesting race.
He has a big white face so you won’t miss him.

    :good: Jac :rose:

It’s unusual to dsee a Clive Cox go off at 33/3 (just missed the 40’s)
    in a sprint. He’s got a bad draw but I think 33/1 4 places with Bet365
    is worth a shot

    3.40 Chester Evie Ross 33/1 4 places.

Star Marerial has a good shout from a good draw at 14/1. I might take
a bit of cover with him.

Bit of a bunched finish, bar Cherry Baker who had a length on the
field. Star material and Evie Ross were about 2L behind the group
from 2nd. In particular Evie Ross Finished well and should be noted
condsidering his poor draw and that this was his first race for 250
days. Sorry he couldn’t get a place, 8th but not that far behind the
horse finishing 4th. In the notebook :good:

Here’s the last chance saloon. I’ve got Spangled Mac on my tracker,
and although he hasn’t quite gone the way that I want, he has ability
and if he puts it together today, he could play a part

    4.45 Chester – Spangled Mac 30/1 e/w 4 places Paddy Power

Awhh he ran so well I thought he would do it. Still 12/1 place mustn’t grumble but I always seem to be 2nd.

My man on the track gave good information though and Sujet still looks like he has a race in him

Lol Nick 😅 I only asked the man if he thought the ground might have changed. He must have realised I was a keen follower of the sport. I really hope Sujet wins a race this season but sadly he’s no longer a dark horse. B-)

Well done with your Illinois place. Jan Brughel the winner is a talented horse :good:

I didn’t see the race as was at my daughters today with little Oscar as the school is closed for Polling.

Better luck tomorrow and I’m looking forward to having a play.
