Yes Gamble, with hindsight a lot should have been differently
China had it ages before we did, so plans should have been in motion by the experts to avoid the troubles we now have
still now someone I know went to Belarus via plane and back home to England within a half week to watch the Football over there….

Nice to hear from you again Gamble. I think it’s the West Midlands, Birmingham in particular and not East Midlands that are vying with London. Having said that I’m not sure how they count these cases as there are 311 cases in Leicestershire and 195 in Leicester. I’m not quite sure if the 311 includes the 195, regardless it’s a rum old do.

Well Tank my favourite time was back in 2002 when it all roughly started. Betfair was a great community possibly 80 to 100 regulars back then and gamble totally took control of me. It all changed for the worse when they split the forum into sections. The Flutter boards was my special home and you could write what wanted really and there was a lot of abusive posts – but taken by most in a relaxed way . It was breaking new ground and I think I was the first to put board characters into stories. I had power in having the ability to change peoples perceptions of others this way. Of course later came my days as gumshoe cracking the shrouds of the clones. It was all an adventure and I was trapped and enraptured by it. I may pop in occasionally and possibly explain where I went for three years. Thank you for your interest.

Nathan the Chinese had the experience of SARS so had some background. My concern is the availability of ventilators in London and they will possibly run out next week.Progression rates went up today overall which means things are on an Howard trend. Some Chinese friends of mine flew back to Macau because of the Government’s initial relaxed reaction. Sweden and the Netherlands are sailing a dangerous lone course. I hope everyone keeps safe. All the best to you.

Good to hear from you again Gamble

    What is a “Howard trend”?

My understanding is that pandemics rise and fall following a skewed Normal Distribution and/or a Logistic Distribution: the familiar bell-curves that the movement restrictions are endeavouring to attenuate

I did not see your post Aaron and yes I write from memory and you are right and greetings. For Howard trend read upward trend – I really should check my posts Drone and be more meticulous. I have enjoyed your interjections on Racing and general spanner throwing. I have possibly irresponsibly just purchased some N95 masks with a three figure price tag. As you may know from my history I was poisoned in Germany and this led to a five year illness and strangely which worsened my underlying asthma. Nobody knows who tagged me as COPD my doctor was puzzled but said rather uninspiringly – it must have been a doctor. I recently completely a spirometry test and was told I am not COPD. This inaccurate tag could be the death of me. I am tempted to write CARER in indelible ink on my chest as a lifesaver. Apparently you get life points for working in the community.

Nothing irresponsible at all, given your health problems; perhaps it could be argued that it is irresponsible that you had to shell out a ton+ rather than be prescribed them

On the UK’s general response to Covid-19 this article from Private Eye’s resident medic ‘MD’ is worth a gander

Strangely enough the money has not left my account so they are probably not for sale. That was a great article Drone and confirms the weakness of the herd policy as it was rolled out – they forgot about the vulnerable. Yes it also confirms the importance of testing and separating family members away from the family. Rickets made me smile but I suppose it is still prevalent.

I was going to write in racing but will give Alan a bit of space for the moment so my reply to Nathan and Tank should be coming up.

Rickets has been increasing quite dramatically in recent years, in all ethnic groups, but most rapidly in children of of Asian descent

Data only until 2011 but plenty of other more current articles if you google ‘rickets uk’
