There was a sad conclusion to the bookings@dundalkstadium.com Maiden at Dundalk this evening, won by the Michael Halford trained Melodie D’Amour only for the mare to suffer fatal injuries passing the line.

Totally agree Moe. I wonder why it happened on or just before the finishing post. Did she become unbalanced when the jockey probably dropped his hands thus taking off the pressure? Did she change her legs or did she just tread awkwardly? I don’t suppose we’ll ever know other than it being a tragic event for all concerned. Poor girl.
