I’ve went with Thunder Rock as my main selection here at 16-1, but I couldn’t resist an ew on Minella Drama at 50-1
April 10, 2024 at 20:36 #1689578One Mullins hoss, 16-1 in the market, unheard of. I’ve had a stab at EASY GAME at 14’s instead with current 3 places on offer with a few books. Not expecting much but he likes small fields, goes on the ground and beat good competition when last seen. Hoping he can squeeze into 3rd.
April 11, 2024 at 21:13 #1689826Not a race I tend to go mad in, but took 14’s Conflated.
Conflated 14’s
April 11, 2024 at 21:35 #1689830I’m on Conflated to , couldn’t touch Jonbon at the price and Envoi had a hard enough race last time
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
April 12, 2024 at 09:33 #1689893This is a really good looking race, and I’m strong on Protektorat here. I thought 9-2 was a smashing price
April 12, 2024 at 11:55 #1689941I really don’t understand why Jonbon is so short here.
Ok He’s clear top rated but that has been over shorter.
There’s the Hendo form, it’s better now but not yet “good” – although confidence in the market is a good sign.
Ran below form last time out, jumping poorly.
There’s the fact he’s usually raced up with the pace… And 5 of the 7 runners like to either make the running or race handily… And that’s not now counting Conflated after his last 2 performances. So Jonbon probably needs to be held up today. Something he’s not used to and that too might lead to mistakes.
I’d be fairly certain he’d stay the trip on normal ground off a normal pace, but this is stamina sapping ground and with so many prominent runners there could be a strong pace.
5/4.

I’ve done all three from the Ryanair.
Envoi Allen should get the race to suit and hopefully Conflated will be held up again. Off a stronger pace Conflated could / would surprise a few.
Value Is EverythingApril 12, 2024 at 12:24 #1689948Great race and a close call. Going with Pic D’Orhy solely on the basis he skipped Cheltenham and is rock solid at this trip. Far from convinced the Hendo stable is over their troubles so this eliminates Jonbon for me.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 12, 2024 at 13:15 #1689960Anyone who happened to catch Rachael’s interview on 5Live Breakfast (7.20) with Rick Edwards and when asked about her rides today would have had to decide whether she was just keeping her cards very close to her chest re Envoi’s chances today or that there may be better value elsewhere. I was left thinking the latter.
Worth listening back to for an example 5Lives “impartiality” in relation to this sport.
April 12, 2024 at 15:11 #1689994Protektorat is one of my TTF so I’m duty bound to back him, so did win only. B365 offering 3 places so did Easy Game 25s ew , flat track and intermediate trip suit and the ground’s not that awful.
April 12, 2024 at 15:38 #1690000The ground looks hard work.
April 12, 2024 at 15:39 #1690001Canny ride from Nico keeping Protektorat boxed in.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 12, 2024 at 16:40 #1690008Good race riding by Nico for sure but to me he still made rather heavy weather of that considering he missed Cheltenham and the Ryanair may have taken an edge off the 2nd and 3rd, going forward though just where does it leave Jonbon?
Nico seem to think he can do 2m or 2m4F but what would be the decision next year at Cheltenham, QMCC or Ryanair? Personally, I think he would have a better chance of winning the latter race considering he could end up facing either of the likes of Energumene, Gaellic Warrior & El Fabiolo (or maybe all three) in the QMCC.
