Doesn’t sound good. Fairytale result as well; hope it isn’t overshadowed with tragedy.
November 3, 2015 at 04:38 #1220207..heavily bandaged and taken to hospital. Fingers crossed…they adore the horse over there; he’s in good hands. C’mon Red…

November 3, 2015 at 06:01 #1220209Gutted – extremely unlucky second and the e/w terms don’t soften the blow.
Initial feeling was that Dettori should have done better but I’ll calm down and rewatch later,
Happy for winning cnonections though, very nice,
Lee

Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
November 3, 2015 at 12:17 #1220224To be fair , Max Dynamite would probably have won barring the heavy interference.
The winner looked to have a clear , uninterrupted run .
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
November 3, 2015 at 14:07 #1220236The most important thing is that the news on Red C seems to be more encouraging…still keeping all fingers crossed for the old warrior

BUY THE SUN
November 3, 2015 at 17:47 #1220262I guess we don’t know how hard it I for women jockeys to get rides and she’s probably had to fight long and hard for this success. Just wondering; if Max Dynamite had’ve won would he have been disqualified because of the interference and which horses suffered most from it?
November 3, 2015 at 18:03 #1220276My thoughts are also with Red Cadeaux , bless him.
November 4, 2015 at 07:41 #1220314Stewards Report:
Race 7 – EMIRATES MELBOURNE CUP (Group 1) – 3200 metres:
Correct weight was delayed as Stewards viewed the patrol film of the straight before deciding not to lodge any objections.
Kingfisher (IRE) – connections advised it was the intention to be ridden in the first eight. Tightened shortly after the start between Red Cadeaux (GB), which was taken out slightly by Sky Hunter (GB), and Almoonqith (USA) which was taken in by Preferment (NZ) (Hugh Bowman). Contacted on the hindquarters near the 350m and hampered.
Almoonqith (USA) – bounded at the start.
Sertorius – over-raced in the home straight the first time.
Red Cadeaux (GB) – over-raced in the early stages. Sustained a serious racing injury near the 250m and was subsequently transported to the Werribee Equine Hospital for assessment and treatment.
The Offer (IRE) – passing the 1000m got its head up when being restrained off the heels of Grand Marshal (GB).
Sky Hunter (GB) – raced three wide without cover. Hampered at the 350m when contacted behind by Grand Marshal (GB) and then again shortly after by Hokko Brave (JPN)
Criterion (NZ) – held up rounding the home turn and until near the 250m when unable to obtain a clear run. Hampered near the 200m when brushed and taken out by Excess Knowledge (GB).
The United States (IRE) – held up rounding the home turn, shifted out in the early part of the straight forcing Fame Game (JPN) wider on the track and also inconveniencing Hartnell (GB).
Hartnell (GB) – inconvenienced rounding the home turn.
Fame Game (JPN) – inconvenienced rounding the home turn. Rider Zac Purton was severely reprimanded for using his whip seven times forehand prior to the 100m which is two times more than permitted.
Hokko Brave (JPN) – severely crowded near the 350m.
Grand Marshal (GB) – checked severely and almost fell near the 350m.
Preferment (NZ) – severely hampered near the 350m.
Gust Of Wind (NZ) – taken out off its course near the 350m.
Bondi Beach (IRE) – hampered near the 350m when Sky Hunter (GB) shifted out after being inconvenienced. Rider Brett Prebble will be severely reprimanded for using his whip six times forehand prior to the 100m which is two times more than permitted.
Snow Sky (GB) – when giving ground had to check near the 200m when tightened for room between Criterion (NZ), which was taken out by Excess Knowledge (GB), and Who Shot Thebarman (NZ) which was taken in by Trip To Paris (IRE). In assessing the incident the Stewards were of the view that Criterion (NZ) was initially taken in towards Excess Knowledge (GB), which had shifted out when being corrected by its rider to avoid tightening to its inside, and at the same time Trip To Paris (IRE) had shifted in before it was straightened. In all the circumstances, while the degree of interference suffered to Who Shot Thebarman (NZ) and Snow Sky (GB) was due to several contributing factors, they could not be satisfied that any particular rider or riders could be held responsible to a charge of careless riding.
Who Shot Thebarman (NZ) – checked severely at the 200m when tightened for room between Trip To Paris (IRE), which shifted in, and Criterion (NZ) which was taken out by Excess Knowledge (GB).
Our Ivanhowe (GER) – tightened at the 250m when tightened for room by Big Orange (GB) which shifted in away from Excess Knowledge (GB).
Frankie Dettori (Max Dynamite (FR) – pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that near the 350m he permitted his mount to shift out when not sufficiently clear of Gust Of Wind (NZ), resulting in Gust Of Wind (NZ) shifting out causing severe crowding to Hokko Brave which in turn caused severe crowding to Grand Marshal (GB) resulting in that horse being checked severely and almost falling and making heavy contact with Preferment (NZ) which in turn made contact with the hindquarters of Kingfisher (IRE). Frankie Dettori had his licence to ride in races suspended for one calendar month to commence at midnight November 3rd and to expire at midnight December 2nd and was also fined the sum of AUD $20,000. In assessing penalty Stewards acknowledged Mr Dettoris good record however took into account the high range interference in the biggest race of the year.
Jamie Spencer (Big Orange (GB) – pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that near the 250m he shifted in whilst riding along when not sufficiently clear leaving insufficient racing room for Our Ivanhowe (GER) which was crowded in onto the fence. Jamie Spencer had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight November 3rd and to expire at midnight November 15th, a total of fourteen race meetings. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Jamie Spencers guilty plea and that the carelessness was in the mid-range in a Group 1 race.

Doubt it, if an offence is subject to disqualfication it would apply to any position it came, not just applied if it finished first.

That ‘nag’ is a pretty ‘handy’ horse… All the interference caused by two English jockeys…Both Suspended, and they did not ‘allow’ the ‘female’ jockey to win, hers was the best ride in the race. Michelle Payne rides very well, always has.
