September 14, 2010 at 09:05 #317463Agreed – great set of answers from Matt. Open, honest and straight.
Many thanks from TRF Matt.

Yes, what you see is definitely what you get here, which is refreshing, like him or not.
Amazed
to learn that MC’s a
quondam
Choral Scholar of King’s College Cambridge. Most of them go on to serious careers in opera, so perhaps that accounts for his broadcasting manner!

September 14, 2010 at 12:39 #317492I think its fair to say that Matt Chapman may have arrived…..I used to email him on ATR to say something along the lines of please calm down because he was clearly trying too hard and was intensely annoying ( it takes a lot for me to complain about anything on TV) but having watched the Sunday Forum as recently as last week he is clearly passionate and knowledgable about racing and manages to combine that with being a good broadcaster and he makes what is essentially a radio show an interesting programme as he seems to do regularly inspite of the occaisional ‘unhelpful’ guest.
To be honest there aren’t many if any ‘personalities’ or even presenters with a bit of personality to compare him to on ATR ( other Racing programmes and channels are necessarily over-burdened with them either) so it would be interesting to see him in a ‘truer’light by having a stint on either C4 racing or BBC racing ( before it packs up altogether)then it would be more possible to assess his quality rather just his quantity………..but I for one would be expecting good things.
September 14, 2010 at 13:21 #317499I think behind Mr.Chapman’s public facade, there lurks a lost soul who craves public acceptance and just wants to be loved
– and I still think he would pass for Luke and Matt Goss’s elder brother.
