Chappers has his own style of broadcasting and there’s a place out there for him
Beachy Head? Mogadishu? Atacama Desert?

May 29, 2013 at 14:04 #441081where ar*se-crawling is the norm
Interesting new form of bowdlerisation there.
**** knows if it’ll catch on.

May 29, 2013 at 14:52 #441085There are, as far as innocent little me is aware, just four words that are filtered by TRF’s expletive engine:
the familiar euphemisms for rectum, congress, female pudendum and faecal matter
Matt Chapman isn’t included for some strange reason, nor is ******…
May 29, 2013 at 17:32 #441093Chapman derides dubious results, marks him out as a friend of punters. He’s ok in my book.
He’s also an obnoxious baffoon and Big Mac’s heir.
Obnoxious is too strong, irritating and infantile would be nearer the mark. Big Mac was obnoxious and a buffoon, I agree.
May 29, 2013 at 17:59 #441097Doesn’t this all boil down to what most peoples Mothers told them – Manners Cost Nothing?

May 30, 2013 at 10:26 #441161I was really applauding Drone for the previously-unknown practise of dropping an asterisk into an expletive without having it replace any of the offending letters, vis:
ar*se
This has to catch on.
Mike
May 30, 2013 at 14:13 #441177Not an unknown practise, Grasshopper late of this parish was my teacher as most of his posts required a liberal sprinkling of asterisks, and still do over at the other place he frequents these days
I see your reference to fornication has been wholly asterisked out, **** knows why
May 30, 2013 at 15:20 #441183Give it rest Drone please.
You do surprise me at times.
Regards
May 30, 2013 at 15:53 #441191Sorry Matron, couldn’t resist
I surprise myself all the time
May 30, 2013 at 16:05 #441192No problems and thank you.
Just that some members on "TRF" find it offensive.

The filter must be American, because over there the word does not enjoy the meaning that it does in the UK. In the 70’s show Mork and Mindy the next door neighbour was Arnold (Ham Shanker) It caused quite a stir and numerous complaints from angry parents when it aired on ITV.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
May 30, 2013 at 21:20 #441219I must apologise – Obviously to you "Right On" characters Matt Chapman = ******.
I don’t get it, because I think MC is a good racing personality and deserves the same respect all other human beings deserve.
Silly me.

Indeed, silly you, as you’re feigning offence and mortification by exaggerating a few irreverent, knockabout comments in response to a patently leading question.
I would argue with your point that ‘all human beings deserve respect’ as obviously many of them don’t. Those that do enjoy respect from others tend to have
earned
it rather than ‘deserving’ it.
Relax, nobody here
hates
Matt Chapman.

May 30, 2013 at 22:02 #441223Matt prefers being called the T word rather than the W.
Quote Matt Chapman
I have always been of the opinion, though, there is no point praising someone if you never criticize them. If someone ever says to me they have enjoyed a feature or show it means more if it comes from someone who had said I was a
tosser
a week before!

Sadly, I do remember Mork, Mindy and Mr W
Fanny is another word all but innocuous stateside. One of the first all-girl rock combos went by that name
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanny_%28band%29
and they couldn’t understand (pseudo-innocently perhaps) the sniggering from we British juveniles back then or from we ageing juveniles now
A good band actually, and largely forgotten

Matt Chapman.
Indeed, hate is a word best used sparingly (cf. genius) and reserved for the likes of Bashar Al Assad
Matt Chapman is just intensely irritating
Though as Confucius didn’t say ‘he who irritates one soothes another’
