Paddy have opened a book and make Minding the 7/4 fav
What’s the likelihood that she’ll drop back to mile.? I can’t see it myself.
Aiden surprisingly hasn’t got a very good record in this with only Lillie Langtry winning for him in 2010.
Qemah is set to run in this and I’ve taken the 5/2 on her. She settled much better in the last race than what she did earlier in the season and should be hard to beat. The biggest danger is I don’t trust filly’s at that time of year, the form seems to get thrown out of the window.

The unbeaten 5/5 and progressive John Gosden filly Persuasive has entered the equation for this. Although she has looked good this will be a big step up and looks a bit short in the market.

Minding did touch odds on for this but has drifted back out to the opening price of 7/4
She has been supported for the Irish Champion and could well end u there. Either way you can still get Qemah at 5/2 a good price if Minding runs in this race and a fantastic price if she goes to the other race.

Almost the same route as David Wachman’s Legatissmo last year , bar competing in the Irish 1000 which was never the plan. I wonder will it be Matron and then Breeders Cup? Hardly the fillies and mares race?

She actually might be a proper contender for the Arc . His record in the Irish Champions Stakes ain’t great lately either. He might as well not turn up to the Arc with any of his colts. Must have plans for Found

I’ve backed Qemah at 9/4 for this. It looks like Minding is headed for the Irish Champion and I have faith in Rouget keeping his filly sweet.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

100% and even if Minding ends up here, Qemah will still have a good chance of winning.
I’m on Minding for the other race at 9/2 Steve and Qemah 5/2 and 11/4 for this one. I called it a while back, I just fail to see the logic in dropping Minding back to a mile. Hey they possibly will and She might win but I’m not feeling it. It was a similar story for the Nassau the bookies had her at 2/1 and I think it was the Irish Oaks that She was also priced up for yet Aiden had said Even Song was going that route.

Qemah has never run on fast ground, and she is by Danehill Dancer, so there must be a doubt about her if the ground is fast on the day, as looks very possible.

I think Qemah is underrated, she can quicken in her race and that’s always an asset.

With Minding out of it, who would you pick against Rouget’s filly?

I have to say I am dubious of John Gosden’s Persuasive. There’s no doubt she’s progressive but the Official Handicapper has her 2 lbs ahead of Qemah already and that seems one I would want to habg my hat on with confidence.

Qemah has won two Group 1 races and Persuasive only a Group 3 so far. Persuasive beat Blond Me last time but despite Andrew Balding’s 4yo horse having a 107 rating, she had stank in her two previous races prior to meeting Persuasive.

You would say that the odds on Persuasive of 7/1 suggest it’s not just me who wonders if she is already superior to Qemah and Gosden’s filly looks like she perhaps needs cut in the ground on the evidence of the form so far.

Alice Springs and Nemoralia are the ones who will like it fast but I’ll pass on them. Alice Springs seems somewhat inconsistent and Nemoralia’s latest win looked nowt special and the form has been kicked in the teeth since.

There is a lot of chaff in the field and I would probably see Volta at 10/1 as one of the better each-way bets in this. Ballydoyle has looked feeble after a decent Guineas second and Amazing Maria seems light years from where she was at one stage.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Ballydoyle is retired, she stayed in the US. Alice Springs has only under performed twice, both times at Deauville, where she was eased very quickly after being asked for an effort. Deauville ground is alway easier than that declared, so probably too soft for her both times, and it’s a very poor surface, I think she hated it. I’d give her another chance on fast ground at Leopardstown.

The rain hit the track yesterday, as long as it’s not a concrete motorway they are running on I think Qemah should be alright. Will her pacemaker be turning up here? The main thing with this horse is settling and if she does and preserves her energy she’d stand an outstanding chance. 6/4 best now. Alice Springs with firm in the description will be a danger but Qemah has seen me good this season and I’ll stick by her. Nemoralia is another I like but as Steve said her win last time out was against nothing in the caliber of Qemah although you can’t entirely rule her out.

I don’t think Ballydoyle was well placed this year, the US runs were the straw that did her career in.

Nemoralia’s trainer Jeremy Noseda is pretty quiet and was 1/14 in August and 0/5 this month so far. That one winner was Nemoralia but it looked a weakish Group 3. Forge managed to get a win but it was a modest enough class 3 conditions stakes he won.

I am happy with Qemah here, she’ll be the one they all have to worry about.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

not much rain over here yet although there is some heavy rain promised tomorrow but again saturday is dry….if it stays good / good-firm I can see Alice Springs running a big race and at 5’s she looks a little too big……however if soft gets into the going description I wouldn’t be too confident….still i’ll take the chance on 5’s right now considering she’ll go off around 3’s if its good on the day. :good:

Well done those with Alice Springs.
Qemah was disappointing but she owes me nothing.

Hope you backed Alice Springs, she dotted up.

She’s very much an in and out horse and you have to feel she should have landed more races.

She was my first Ante-Post pick for the 1000 Guineas last season after a very taking debut but it didn’t take long for disappointment to kick in and I was gutted to be honest with you.

Clearly talented when on song, she does seem to have two ways of running. Today was clearly a going day.

Qemah was disappointing and never looked like winning. She wasn’t best placed early on but Alice Springs came from further back to win and it was a case that the French filly, who had beaten the winner the last twice, just didn’t pick.

This was the biggest let down of the day for me in a way but I had a great day otherwise and can’t complain.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
