backed step this way at windsor saturday i know its no world beater started fav finished vitually pulled up what is wrong with his horses
July 1, 2008 at 11:16 #171139Said exactly the same to my friend earlier today.
I think there is a thread on here (a bit further down or on another page perhaps) covering this subject.
He is having a lot of placed horses but they are finding it hard to get their head in front. Best left alone for the time being I reckon – unless you can predict (or know) an up-turn in form is on the horizon.

ps: Welcome to the forum
July 1, 2008 at 11:43 #171143My guess is that the upturn will occur at Goodwood.
July 1, 2008 at 21:37 #171232I`ll certainly be interested in his Goodwood runners too.Has been in a
slump for a while though.July 1, 2008 at 23:00 #171246I was interested in his Ascot runners and now I’m the only tramp in Camden with a laptop.
July 2, 2008 at 09:36 #171269Braveheart’s not been the same since the Taliban started hiding out in his haystacks.
July 2, 2008 at 09:47 #171271I’m keeping an eye on one of his, Ace Of Spies.
He was racing off a mark of 78 on the A.W. in the winter and his last run was off a mark of 58. In his last four runs he has been ridden by very inexperienced riders and has finished way out the back. After his latest run he may be dropped even more.
Just watching to see what happens when a more experienced rider gets back up.

July 2, 2008 at 10:00 #171273I can’t register with his forum. It has one of those confirmation code thingies and it keeps telling me I’ve got it wrong.
July 2, 2008 at 10:13 #171274I remember them pulling off a similar stunt on the all-weather with Boomtown Colin. That Marie Luisana looks like she’s close to falling off at any moment.
July 11, 2008 at 17:02 #172855Ace Of Spies, now down to a mark of 54, is due to run at Hamilton 9.15 tomorrow, Greg Fairley rides.

July 11, 2008 at 17:34 #172860Having been out of sorts I see the Braveheart yard is back to the sort of form that has made it famous.
– odds on fav beating one home
– deposed fav doubling in price to place and pulling up after 100 yards
– longshots getting backed off the boards and running blindersJuly 11, 2008 at 18:09 #172864I see Step This Way has gone 1LL on his last 3 starts, must be a good chance of a 1 next time I’d say. I thought you’d like that juvenile at Ascot Glenn!
July 12, 2008 at 21:22 #172998Ace of Spies went off second favourite but could only manage fourth.

Back to the drawing-board.

July 14, 2008 at 21:19 #173242Goes again tomorrow in the 2.45 at Beverley, coming out again so soon and dropping a furlong, I reckon it will be there or thereabouts tomorrow, around 12’s at the minute on betfair.
October 17, 2008 at 20:28 #185146I don’t know much about Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum or who he is the son of but I do know he is sending some of the best yearlings Johnston has ever got from the Maktoum family. We will know see how Mark does with these royally bred expensive types.
The other long established Hamdan is also sending the stable a better class of yearling than in the past.
