Sad news. Fair play to him for having a go at the Gold Cup with a horse he knew was good enough. If he had waited a year, he would not have won.
Sympathy to his family and friends.
March 2, 2024 at 12:49 #1683232Only 66.
To win a Gold Cup, Whitbread and Hennessy with three different horses is some achievement for a small stable. Absolutely loved Coneygree.
I’ll be cheering Mr Vango on if he goes for the Whitbread.
RIP

RIP..🐎🌹Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 2, 2024 at 13:07 #1683241Awful news. They both were a great team and fair play to them for they way they campaigned their horses.
I hope Mr. Vango becomes a horse to put them back on the NH map again.May he rest in peace.
March 2, 2024 at 14:12 #1683292Coneygree might have shone briefly …. but he shone astonishingly brightly RIP

March 2, 2024 at 18:17 #1683375Very sad news, thoughts and prayers go to his family.
A great team, and hopefully Mr Vango will do them proud, he certainly jumped beautifully at Exeter the other day, which is typical of their horses.March 2, 2024 at 19:48 #1683383I’d echo what patriot said, 3 different horses too. The Coneygree campaign was bold and magnificent.
