Lol, i can see the argument either way to be fair.

I do think the Mares Hurdle this year looks a proper race though and that might encourage them to take a chance.

I’m inclined to agree Jack. I just don’t want to believe it!

    Which is easier

Facing honeysuckle and epatante (who she already beat)?

Or potentially facing the two horses that beat honeysuckle in the hattons grace? Plus blazing khal, home by the Lee and double champ flooring porter

Over a trip she’s far from certain to get being a keen going horse

It’s the mares race and it’s not close

Marie’s Rock did miss Aintree which probably helped- i don’t buy Stormy Ireland beating Epatante as true form….

As for which is easier, she’s an 8/1 shot in one and a 4/1 shot in the other….so that’s obvious, but then Honeysuckle could’ve went for the mares each year for an “easier” race also….

Why are people so hesitant about how they campaign horses? Why not be bold and go for the big race?

She is owned by a syndicate who are in it for fun. She has already won one Mares race. Who cares if she wins another? Apart from TC, obviously!

More trainers should take a leaf out of Clive Brittain’s book.

I’m at this point thinking back to the episode of the Simpson where Bart has sold his soul. In the middle of the night he goes round to Millhouses and pleads for his soul. Mr Van Houten has work in the morning and tells them all to shut up shut up SHUT UUUUUUUP :yahoo:

I think Henderson genuinely feels that she’s got a better chance in the stayers if she gets her ground.

And he’s already got epatante in this and nothing in the stayers.

The disparity in prices is probably because the race hasn’t really been mentioned for her until recently.

Imo Marie’s Rpck has a challenge on whichever race she goes for.

In the Mares race the challenge being from Honeysuckle and one or two others.

In the Stayers race the challenge being her stamina due to her freegoing nature and the market leaders’ opposition.

Hard for me to gauge whether one is easier than the other for the horse.

But ultimately you’re not bothered because you took 25/1 to win any race back in July am I right Mike?

The pornstar is set to make her belated reappearance

    Going right-handed
    First time up
Giving 9lb to Queen’s Brook and 12lb to Anna bunina

    A tough assignment

I’ve backed Queen’s Brook today and ew for Cheltenham. I think she would have been a lot closer to Marie’s Rock with a bit more ease in the ground last year and she is a good mare. I don’t think Brandy Love can give her the weight today especially without the benefit of a run, and nobody else in the race is going to help Townend out by keeping on her left side.

Good run from Brandy Love I thought. Jumped pretty straight as well apart from maybe the last bit of the race where race fitness started to tell. 9 pounds to a Mares Hurdle runner up was always going to be a big task today,

    Yes agree Mike

Beaten 4 lengths by a 144 horse giving her 9lb

Finished upsides a 140 horse giving her 12lb

Has run to about 150 first run for 10 months going the wrong way round under a gentle ride

The 10s available is a knocking price for anyone not already on

She ran well but assuming everything in the betting turns up, I cannot see her beating all of Honeysuckle, Epatante, Maries Rock and Love Envoi. I would not even be 100% confident of her turning it around with Queens Brook.

Boylesports were 10s when I looked post race jack

Back to 8s now which is still very good

Think she’s got a much better chance than epatante and love envoi in particular

And honeysuckle is regressive so I’d fancy her to improve past her

Hopefully for my bets both Marie’s rock and Brandy love run
