Decent field at the moment, but the race does have the tendency to cut up.
My attention drawn straight away to two old friends, Tiger Roll and Native River. Tiger looks a big price at 25’s, but even with a good chance that the yard will be sending some over, I’d be surprised if he actually trapped. Stranger things have happened though, and that 25’s tempts me. Native River just might get close to his ground, if the forecast is right, but he’s maybe one to catch next time out. 6’s probably fair though, considering that it might indeed cut up.
I bet Lake View Lad at Ayr, and thought he ran a decent race. Life in the old dog yet, and I don’t see any reason why he can’t go close in his bid to repeat last years win. He’s definitely close to being bet.
The one I have bet though is the outsider Wishing and Hoping. Very impressive winner here last time, and looks as if this has been the plan. An ambitious enough target, but just the way he did it last time, I thought he had more to offer. Maybe not strictly one for the win, but he’s got no ground concerns, and with the chance this cuts up, I’m actually very hopeful of a decent spin.

Henderson up to his tricks again. Champ will not run because there needs to be more cut in the ground.
Is the ground ever right for any of his horses?
Willie’s been doing it as well, just unfortunate Henderson gets the flack.
Willie Mullins will probably have to make decisions about participations of Al Boum Photo for this and Chacun Pour Soi for the Tingle Creek. Patrick Mullins was on a podcast this week, worrying that watering was being done at Sandown.
“Unfortunate” not so sure. Henderson’s running scared is basically all he’s doing. Nothing more, nothing less. He doesn’t want a horserace before March. Nothing to do with the ground, all about gallops rather than races. Unless they’re 1/5f of course.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!I live not far from Aintree. There has been plenty of rain up here (including today) and it snowed on Sunday.
I find it very difficult to believe the ground will not be soft enough or unsafe.
Henderson is just taking the mickey now. He has made it quite clear only one meeting matters. All the other racecourses do not count. Unless he wants to use them for a racecourse gallop, of course.
I’m not the biggest fan of Hendo, but I didn’t see him bigging up beforehand, so in this instance I would be willing to cut him some slack. That’s assuming of course I haven’t missed an article this week stating that it was all systems go for Champ.
I liked the 6-1 for Imperial Aura, so he is my early bet.
Had to add Tiger Roll here. Terrible run here in April, but wouldn’t be the first time he’s bounced back, and I can’t let him run at that price without a bet. If he’s fully wound up, that’s some price.

Glad to see a better turnout for this. Imperial Aura still had a part to play in the Betfair before coming down. Not one I usually back, but I’ll give him a go here.

Gets a bit of weight off the other market principles and unexposed at the trip
He may well need the run but I’m not going to desert Native here , if he gets in a rythm he could jumps these lot daft , hope to see a good run from imperial too after that fall last time , whats the price on tiger pulling up ? , all about getting that mark down

Native River on soft ground always runs a race. Also added Wishing and Hoping, especially with 100/1 available. Might get a third place if some other disappoint and pull up.
