Drakeford’s only consistency is to be seen to have a differing position to Westminster. Having not been convinced of the efficacy of face masks in 2021, his position was to retain their use even when numbers dropped off significantly. His tinkering has not stopped parts of Wales at times being top dog in terms of case rates. The talking turtle enjoyed unfathomable success in the senedd election this year.
December 21, 2021 at 17:26 #1573677…and on the other hand Musselburgh have reported that their January fixtures will be held behind closed doors…
December 21, 2021 at 17:29 #1573678A population almost fully vaccinated, with boosters and with masks. But you cannot attend a race meeting in the open air.
Perish the thought that Sturgeon is just being petty because she can.
December 21, 2021 at 17:36 #1573680Drakefords fines for working in an office tell you all you need to know about his disgusting attitude. As if people don’t have enough to worry about whilst trying to continue to be productive in their jobs. Quite incredible
Cork is right. Wales extra restrictions achieved absolutely nothing. Zero
December 21, 2021 at 17:36 #1573682Sturgeon is always petty.
December 21, 2021 at 17:47 #1573683She gives the impression of being constantly haunted by the possibility that someone somewhere might be enjoying themselves.
December 21, 2021 at 18:45 #1573707Rob: Can you warn us in advance of any other racecourses you may become a member of please….
December 21, 2021 at 18:54 #1573711In these moments I just try to think of all the Petrol money I am about to save….

You still driving the Skoda, Chief?
December 21, 2021 at 21:41 #1573769Two tyrants Drakesford. And Sturgeon
Egged on by people like Gt and Id who cant wait to be locked down
Why are the people accepting it ??
God only knows
Hopefully rebellion and rejection will follow
Bedwetters are so gutted we are not locked down already here in England😝😸👎
Racing is all the poorer for this
Vaccine passports rubbished as uselesz. We are locking you down anyway
A social disaster👎👎
December 22, 2021 at 10:42 #1573855Musselburgh is a bit of a moving target. Email from the course this morning states that Annual Members will be allowed to attend on the 1st and 3rd of January. Presumably a good deal less than 500 members so they can let us in. Still awaiting my badge having ordered it on November 25th, though apparently been in the post since last Monday… from 30 miles away!
I suspect Musselburgh’s announcement about ‘behind closed doors’ on 1st and 3rd was to prevent the riff-raff trying to get in…

Ayr appear to be no spectators for 2nd/9th.
Moe – Added Musselburgh to my Kelso membership for this year. Will do those two plus the reciprocals at other Scottish and Northern courses in 2022. Covid permitting of course
December 22, 2021 at 11:45 #1573867Rob,
I read that Wee Krankie had cancelled New Year, so 2022 won’t happen in Scotland, thus rendering crowd issues for January meetings irrelevant.
Dec 31st will be Groundhog Day!
December 22, 2021 at 12:25 #1573873Will that include Hexham Rob? Have always wanted to go there as I think I can take my dog there. Ditto Musselborough.

Kelso and Musselburgh emailed this morning to say it’s Members Only for meetings through to end of January. From purely selfish view point the quiet days suit me, but it’s hardly beneficial to the racecourses. The political arguments are entrenched on both sides but, in my opinion, we need to break the cycle of open up and then lockdown ASAP.
Moe
Hexham reciprocals with Kelso in 2022 are May 17th and September 6th.

Knowing that both Sturgeon and Drakeford have every right to do something doesn’t mean I am in favour. imo Race meetings should go ahead with spectators and vaccine passports...And no am not for another Lockdown (at least not yet and possibly not ever again)… just (currently) for precautions.
