I adore Big Buck’s. I have to admit though…I wonder whether today will be the day he gets beat.
Tidal Bay’s form at Aintree is 211152 and this seems to be his track. Admitedly Big Buck’s form here is 11 but I still fancy backing Tidal Bay at the prices.
That World Hurdle run was too bad to be true when you consider how close Time For Rupert got.
April 8, 2010 at 13:08 #288537Wow, there was that flatspot….and the flatspot that was missing from Cheltenham too! Think he had a double dose of it today but what a horse.
Gutsy as hell.
Possol NEARLY did it but just didnt have the class to finish the job

April 8, 2010 at 13:16 #288539I have never had the pleasure of seeing Big Bucks in the flesh, but he sure looks good on HD Television!
April 8, 2010 at 13:28 #288543Another nice performance from Big Buck’s.
If Tidal Bay were a student, his grade for effort in that contest would have been C -! Staying on well at the end when clearly not putting it all in.
April 8, 2010 at 23:16 #288736As I said, Tidal Bay is a thorough hound.
Wonder what his supporters will cling to next time….

Tidal Bay jumped most of the hurdles poorly, and lost ground at many of them, just as he has over fences, but still retains a massive engine and, (if he ever gets the confidence to jump) still has it in him to be right up there with the best. Surprised, given his owner’s wealth, that he hasn’t been sent elsewhere (e.g. Mary Bromiley) to learn his trade better.
Pity really, because, as it turned out, yesterday’s race wouldn’t have taken that much winning at all.
