I wouldn’t be disheartened MrE – I think with forums these days there are a lot more watchers than contributors.
If you feel you want a larger audience than open an “Twitter” account also and “tweet” your selections and see if you get some response.
Matron…. I’m not disheartened old friend, the word I’d use is saddened…. the contributers to the forum have long gone and that’s a pity. In my opinion, it all boils down to the response one gets when and during posting, members have been misaligned and the object of a “systems” section is to listen and help…. not kick the poor member in the plums and telling him that systems don’t work. Systems DO work, some only last a year, others bang along for a few years…. I have seen some systems that are still working that I used in my youth.
There is a club that has a bucketload of members, everyone posts ideas and that particular forum is reaping the benefits, there are systems in use on that site that make profits month after month….. why am I not a member???… well, I was…. but I got kicked out for being too chopsy (that doesn’t sound like me at all, does it), but nevertheless, that forum is good and there are a plethora of systems that you can use and show a nice profit from.
Even this forum was “hot” in it’s heyday, but it’s dying now and you have to ask why???… lack of posters surely, but why, the answer is above. Until other members allow discussions and ideas to take place without fear of being blown off by p!ss takers, then you might as well wrap up this section now…. we had some good stuff in the past, and we weren’t afraid to open our gobs, I remember a few good systems floating about too. I don’t think that it’s Twitter etc. that’s doing the damage, it’s the bloody “knockers”…. people refuse to let us do our thing, we want and need our own little cubby holes, we know we’re frigging nuts, but that’s why we acknowledge said nuttiness by referring to the systems section as Ward 7…. we know it guys, don’t keep piling the sh!t on….. but give us a little bit of a graveyard that we can call our own, after all, if the system haters don’t like it, they don’t have to come down here, they can just sit up with the elite and have a few sniggers at our expense.
What I’m trying to say mate, is it’s not written that Ward 7 should drip slowly into oblivion, members need to post and to be profitable. If this section started making profits on a regular basis, others would follow even if they didn’t believe in systems, they would follow because there’s money to be made….. no, I shall remain Twitterless and keep trying to put something up in Ward 7, but I certainly won’t just keep posting just for members to “take” without giving something back. I think (hope) that the systems section continues, but it’s looking sick at present….

Thanks Ginge… yeah, hopefully it will come along OK if it follows the last two months. I was doing OK at the other stuff, but too much time wasted…. and I found trading to be a real pain in the butt, I’m not smart enough to predict the movement of markets and that makes it just a toss of a coin, many others make it work, but I found it really difficult…. I never thought that I’d admit to something getting the better of me, but trading sure did that….
I have high hopes with the footy, my doubts are only that I don’t know if my ideas will work on some of these teams that I can’t even pronounce, but I’m crossing my fingers that they will. With a little bit of luck going my way, I’m hopeful that I can keep up with you and your horses…

Hi Elc…. the Goose, yep, that was a good ‘un…. but that’s giving me even more work. I’m gonna stick with the footy for another month and see how it goes and if I can clear 20pts a month without the brown stuff trickling, then that’ll do me and there’s not so much work involved….
