Now, if you had to oppose Voler La Vedette here who will start off very-short priced, what would it be?
I’m going for No One Tells Me and College Daisy. Nothing else will get close!
December 29, 2009 at 14:32 #266229Having beaten Go Native by 13 lengths, it would have been a big shock had she been turned over in this race.

December 29, 2009 at 17:23 #266270I have backed Voler La vedette in all her races bar her 1st and she didn’t really seem to be at her best today imo. Still good enough to beat these though.

Shes a good mare but she caught an underprepared Go Native and is not champion standard.

December 29, 2009 at 17:39 #266275I wouldn’t underestimate her, she has done very little wrong and is well ahead of all the other mares in the country. All she could do was thrash him, not her fault he was undercooked
December 30, 2009 at 18:34 #266504One big difference nobody seems to have picked up about VDV’s two runs this year.
When she beat Go Native it was run over 2m.
When she ran yesterday it was 2m4f as a tester for the Mares race at Cheltenham.
She blatantly didn’t find anything in the final few furlongs and this has been backed up by her jockey.
She’ll be dropping back to 2m now for the Irish Champion Hurdle.
December 30, 2009 at 18:43 #266509Good point hwth, but she won well over 2m2f at Leopardstown last year and I wouldn’t write her off her at that distance just yet.
December 30, 2009 at 20:36 #266536Think Colm is, sadly, still considering the Mares race for her at Cheltenham too, Thehorsemouth

I’d love for her to go for the Champion Hurdle. Not least because i’ve got an AP bet on her for it!
December 30, 2009 at 21:08 #266545Yeah I think it’s worth having a pop at, she’s go so much, as Aidan O’Brien would say, "speed, AND pace"

January 2, 2010 at 17:52 #267156How she runs against Solwhit will dictate where she goes at Cheltenham. I wouldn’t pay much attention to the race on Tuesday. I’m sure Colm had left plenty to work on and she’ll be spot on for her next day out in Foxrock.
January 2, 2010 at 18:09 #267162Thats what I hoped aswell but seemingly she was ready for Leopardstown. I think she will givbe Solwhit a race though.
