No prices yet, but some interesting horses entered up for this, hopefully the majority will turn up. Red Cadeaux looks likely to be using this as a warm up before setting off to the Dubai a few weeks later, not one for me. The same could be said for Planteur but he broke the track record in the trail and if he comes on for that run would be hard to beat. Premio Loco is my favourite, good record first time out, has run well at Lingfield before winning this race last year but there was no Planteur in that line up. If this race was over a mile I would consider Loco but at the distance Planteur would be the pick. Of course final decs and prices still to know.

March 1, 2013 at 23:42 #430944I’ll take two P’s from that list Nathan:
Planteur and Parish Hall
Great warm up to the start of the flat.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 2, 2013 at 10:45 #431010I also thought Parish Hall to be interesting entry, not over sure Bolger will bring him over. A class horse but yet to run over 7f and the long lay-off would put me off.

March 3, 2013 at 13:25 #431140Planteur would be of interest, but wouldn’t have a clue who would be a definite runner here.
March 4, 2013 at 13:34 #431276Quoting Nathan from his opening post."The same could be said for Planteur but he broke the track record in the trail and if he comes on for that run would be hard to beat."
Just a general question. How fit, in percentage terms, would Planteur have been when he ran in the Trial assuming that he would go on to the Winter Derby and then presumably be 100% fit for the Dubai World Cup if indeed he goes there. Trainers use the terms "He needs the run" or "he will come on for the run" which I assume means the horse is not fully fit but I have no idea how far from fully fit they are. Is there any general rule that can be applied so as to be better able to assess a horses chance in a race when they are not fully fit?
March 6, 2013 at 18:02 #431497Sponsors bluesquare have priced it up but no Planteur in their list.

March 6, 2013 at 18:45 #431500Like I said I cant answer your question threenaps, only thing I would say is a trail is a trail and not the main event.
Here’s a quote from the trainer.
"We have to be pleased with the outcome and he will come on a stone. We didn’t have him 100% for this race, so he should improve quite a lot.

March 16, 2013 at 12:01 #433179I’ve gone for Premio Loco. Now with Miblish a N/R cant see him finishing outside the 1st 3.

March 16, 2013 at 15:25 #433204I backed Cai Shen last year and was left with the feeling he was a little unlucky running so wide. I’ll give him another go with Roger Varian and shortish odds never having been a recipe for success in my experience.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 16, 2013 at 20:57 #433243Farraaj broke the 10f course record (recently set by Planteur).
Also nice to see Robin Hoods Bay set another fast time (he already had a 2m02s to his name when winning a class 2 over CD in January, which put him high up the list of fast times. He’s probably gone a bit faster today)
He’s one of these AW hadicappers that seem to really enjoy the surface & can progress further than people think. He had a nice draw today though.
