I don’t usually pay much attention to racing on artificial surfaces (or so-called “all weather” racing), but while working out my ITV7 selections this morning I noticed that the 2.40 is over one mile and one yard. In other races on today’s card, the speedsters also cover an additional yard over six furlongs and a whole six yards extra over the minimum trip.
Can’t they just move the stalls forward a bit? 🤷♂️

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 26, 2022 at 10:58 #1584853I can understand some race distances being inexact if the exact distance meant the stalls would be too close to a bend. But one yard does seem a bit ridiculous.
February 26, 2022 at 12:19 #1584877Same with jumps racing with races run over 1m7f and so many yards – where possible (obviously not if the start is too close to a bend or an obstacle) just move it back so that it is the exact distance especially when you consider most jump races are started with the field upwards of 75yds off the tape anyway.
February 26, 2022 at 17:04 #1584917We need a race of 1m 0.5 yards for horses who don’t stay a mile and a yard.
BUY THE SUN
February 26, 2022 at 18:25 #1584935I would doubt the distances will be correct to the yard anyway.
What do newcomers to the sport think when they see distances of 6f 219yds etc all the time? The sport is run by idiots. - AuthorPosts
