There’s some proper nice types entered up here, but I’m going to go with Wickywickywheels once there’s a market. I think she’s an interesting type, and been waiting her out for a while. Too long in fact, and missed her a few times at decent odds.
She doesn’t look the most obvious in this line up, and would require some effort, but I thought she was in process of running a big race in The Aphrodite when badly hampered. She was basically brought to a standstill.
No market yet, and may not get one now, but if she declared Monday, and doesn’t have any more entries that week, I’ll definitely bet her. Hopefully at decent odds. I like her for The Ebor, she’s the type of Goldie horse I like, but doubt she’ll get in at this time

July 27, 2023 at 12:35 #1656750I would definitely bet Heartache Tonight in this as hopefully a bigger priced ew bet, while River of Stars or Time Lock maybe for the win
August 4, 2023 at 19:05 #1658436I’ll regret not betting Time Lock, I just know it, but I’ve went with Sumo Sam at 25-1 ew
August 4, 2023 at 20:37 #1658456Luisa Casati has already beaten Time Lock around here albeit over shorter but similar ground and I think further will suit.
The more I know the less I understand.
August 5, 2023 at 12:19 #1658612August 5, 2023 at 13:04 #1658634I was really hoping for bigger than 7-2 for River Of Stars, but that will have to do
August 5, 2023 at 14:57 #1658669it would be nice to see my namesake
Sumo Sam
each way. Pick up a bit of black type,
But this is all about
FREE WIND
Win
the only impediment to this horse’s chances are the glorious uncertainties of racing. A course winner of a maiden bolted up by nine lengths. The other issue is Frankie. racing is not all about this fellow and if he takes the trainers instructions to heart, this really ought to be a procession, given that this horse is back in own sex company here after running flat in a better open race last time. Rated well clear and wins if handling the cut.

August 5, 2023 at 15:06 #1658673Well done Sam another nicked race from the front.
The more I know the less I understand.
August 5, 2023 at 15:09 #1658676Well done Kris and Sam, that was a nice winner to have at that price
August 5, 2023 at 15:23 #1658684Didn’t have a bet but was cheering on Sumo Sam for Kris and Sam.
Value Is EverythingAugust 5, 2023 at 16:08 #1658715Thanks, that’s the physics factor. But I didn’t think the jockey would leave him out the back for so long on a course on which he was so experienced. He may well have run flat but if ridden closer to the pace would have been good enough for second. Good spare ride for Tom and he’d have had plenty advice from Hollie in Newmarket.
August 5, 2023 at 16:11 #1658718Well done to those that found the winner! Was stood right by the finishing line for the race, backed the favourite about 10mins before the off, but about 5mins before the off the track became a monsoon, crazy rain, genuinely think the fav threw the towel in, the rain actually got substantially harder when they had about 4f left to run. I could just be talking through my pocket as the fav could well have just gotten tired after having so much ground to make up being held up at the back throughout the race. They reeled in the front runner in the race before (which I’d backed, typically) and maybe Frankie misjudged it and assumed they’d be able to do the same again. Gosden had a long chat with Frankie and Atzeni on the way from the parade ring to the track, presumably talking tactics, they would have had no way of knowing the amount of rain that was about to hit the track.
