As per, I’ll cover my old pal Faivoir here, and I’ll take the 50’s should it look like going, but he seems more one to take at max EW Places after Final Decs. The County surely the target
French Ship looks like a horse going places, just something about him, and Beat The Bat might just have a prize like this in him, but off the back of a decent run last time, I’ll go with Ike Sport just now. Caught my eye at Aintree last spring, and think the price is wrong

January 7, 2026 at 07:45 #1749720Myretown in the Warwick classic and French ship in this in a double to pay for the week in Tenerife during the Cheltenham festival!
That’s if this event goes ahead of course. Clerk of the course has already said he’s highly doubtful.
January 7, 2026 at 08:05 #1749721Based on the weather forecast for the south of England, I wouldn’t waste too much time looking at the form for this race.
January 7, 2026 at 09:08 #1749723Weather looks slightly milder with mainly cold rain for the South, so i’d think there’s every chance racing will be ok. Guess it depends, how far in advance, they want to make the call.
January 7, 2026 at 14:35 #1749732More optimism about Warwick being on that Kempton at the moment.
Warwick – “The thaw has definitely begun, you can tell by the number of pipes that have burst, and it’s come out of the top but is obviously still in below. We’re due an awful lot of moisture Thursday night through to Friday, up to 30 millimetres of rain which we are praying for.”
Kempton – “I’m just walking it now and we’re still frozen I’m afraid. We had ten millimetres of rain overnight and temperatures didn’t get below two degrees but didn’t’ get much higher than four yesterday evening. I need a big improvement today and tomorrow with rainfall and temperatures getting above five degrees to try and take this out.”

January 8, 2026 at 21:06 #1749830Took some 10’s for Just Ennemi as well. Derham said after his previous run he has always held him in the highest regard and that the run was too bad to be true.

January 10, 2026 at 10:31 #1749974I’ve backed Beat the Bat several times. Hoping this time it will be his day. With his run in the Coral Cup he must have a decent chance. Also an EW-shot for Ike Sport as well.

January 10, 2026 at 12:25 #1750005Wreckless Eric 16-1.
The more I know the less I understand.
January 10, 2026 at 13:21 #1750007I had Came From Nowhere last time and will stick with it, although that was a slowly run afare. Jumping should hold up to the faster pace here.
Also Just A Rose, who I remember winning at Taunton. Her PTP form is very good and she could be well in here. I’ll take her last run as a prep race for this.
January 10, 2026 at 13:48 #1750014I appreciate that she’s won on the horse on the last two occasions (and i might back her today) and Mr Nicholls can do whatever he wants but if there was any other jockey against Fasol would Harry Cobden now been switched to this instead of Just A Rose?
Should say i’m not having a go at Olive Nicholls, it’s just a case of if you’ve got your stable jockey without a ride in the race, you want them on the best horse available.January 10, 2026 at 14:31 #1750020King Of The Lake 25/1 EW 4 places
