Early days, but got a few in mind at this early stage, though no surprise to see Next Destination at the head of the market……

    https://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/ante-post-racing/national-hunt/ladbrokes-trophy-chase/winner

Main hopes at the moment are Remastered and Ontheropes.

Really liked what I saw of Remastered last year, and think he could run a big race here, looks perfect for him, before stepping out of handicaps.

There’s obviously been an issue with Ontheropes, who’s not been out for some time, but he’s a horse I had big hopes for before, and in a race that Mullins really likes, I think his current mark will make this a very tempting target. I think he could have a big season ahead, and holds an entry for next weeks Kerry National.

Dashel Drasher had a great time of it last year, and should start off 21/22 where he left off, especially as he wasn’t given a hard campaign after Ascot.

Dingo Dollar was rejuvenated under Sandy Thomson, and in a race where he’s ran well before, I think there must be a chance that he’ll travel down. I’m a little surprised he’s not quoted, as it looks ideal for him.

Remastered probably my #1 right, as this’ll surely be the target, but no early bet……..yet

    Dashel Drasher 25’s
    Dingo Dollar N/Q
    Ontheropes N/Q
    Remastered 25’s

Will a 13 year old Regal Encore be running again?!

Next Destination for me at this stage, but I’m happy to leave for now at 10-1.

Castlebawn West is a bit under the radar since his big win last season, and I wonder if he is the type that Mullins might consider for this, assuming that he isn’t on the sidelines as he hasn’t been seen for a while.

I really like Castlebawn west as well war of the roses. His win at leopardstown was a monster performance. The last horse to win that race off a similar mark was Annabaile Fly who went on to place in gold cups and grand nationals.

I’ve not heard that the horse is injured, was entered in the gold cup but pulled out.

He wud be very interesting if coming here

But, there will be no Castlebawn West in the Irish Gold Cup, who is out for the season “He split a pastern during the week and is up in hospital with five new screws in it” –

Googling “pastern fracture prognosis” I found an interesting article (that I am too inept to link) by Mark Johnston’s vet with some good images of before and after Xrays of repair and apparently if all goes well they can be back in full work in 4 months. The date of that tweet from Mullins was start of Feb so it’s possible he could have come in with the rest.

Lets hope so, either way hope hes sound whatever happens and if he runs again or not.

His run in the RSA a few years back is quite interesting to watch, the engine was clearly there but he just cudn’t jump in that race. That very much improved last season.

Has Mullins broken a mirror …..few injured horses before the season even started , be interested to see if tizzard aims fiddlerontheroof or the big breakaway at this , see both are around 14-1 , tizzards horses were off for a part of the season then came good at Cheltenham , he,s had a fair summer with what he,s ran and I reckon he may well start the season strongly , have the same feeling with NTD

No, he just has a lot of horses. As Nicholls said, Monkfish wasn’t the first and Topofthegame won’t be the last. I see that Petibonome, a Robcour horse with Henry dB, is on the HRI death list this week too :-(

I agree with your thoughts on Tizzards horses- if all over last season’s bug, then a few well handicapped ones there. I’m especially interested in Fiddlerontheroof.

Yeah GAG, if you look at last season, the majority of the horses people wanted to show at the festival ended up making it. That doesn’t happen almost ever, reverting to the norm it seems this year..

Another from the early shortlist out today, and looking for a good run from Dingo Dollar at Kelso, without winning. Think a win would rule him out for this.

You,d be happy with that VTC esp as dingo ran without the tongue tie , Sandy’s always need a run , remember Nov to end Feb is his time , I’ve got my eye on Bak rocky at Ayr …form figures look bad but look at the last run

Don’t have to worry about Dingo now, as there’s no entry…….

    https://www.racingpost.com/racecards/36/newbury/2021-11-27/794910

From my original list, Ontheropes and Remastered, both get an entry, and they’ll both do for me. Definitely betting the pair of them Antepost, and just about seeing if I can beat 12’s.

    Ontheropes 12’s
    Remastered 20’s
