Ladbrokes are paying out on Paul Hanagan as winner of the Jockeys’ Championship.
The firm have also opened their market on the 2011 race for the title, with Ryan Moore the 5/4 favourite ahead of Kieren Fallon and Hanagan who are both 3/1 chances.
Spokesman David Williams said: "It’s done and dusted as far as we’re concerned. The suspension for Hughes and his trip to the States have all but put paid to his aspirations and we reckon the battle is over.
"Obviously if Richard Hughes pulls off an extraordinary comeback we’ll take it on the chin but we think it’s time to give the Hanagan fans their money back."
Ladbrokes also make Henry Cecil an 8/1 chance to win the trainer’s title in 2011.
It would be somewhat ammusing if Richard Hughes went through the card at Kempton this evening.
October 14, 2010 at 16:13 #322381what is the final closure date for flat champ’ship?
October 14, 2010 at 16:25 #322384First week in November? Hughesie goes to America for breeders cup weekend.
Think its a tad daft from the magic sign, but fair play to them!

Just be like the thing PH picks up a 6 day ban. Hope not but oh what might have been if they hadn’t spoiled a great battle by banning Hughsie.
Obviously rules are rules and we need to have them but as I’ve said before they can also be very unfair to people like Hughsie. They end up in real terms paying as much as 20 times more than some other jockey working for a lesser stable. They don’t fine Bill Gates anymore for parking than they do anyone elsejust because he makes more monay than them.
Over and above that this particular ban may well have the Title.
Maybe there’s room for suspended bans in situations like this for jockeys involved in tight finishes for the championship I don’t know.
October 14, 2010 at 16:54 #322390i can see hughes winning it if he keeps pressuring.

Who knows. But if you went by his last 20 mounts(1 winner) you’de have to think his chances of holding on look slim but he’s got some really good mounts between Friday and Saturday.
I think the ban starts Saturday????
If Paul can get back to 10 in front with Hughsie going to the USA he’d need to ride 2 winners a day for 9 days solid to have achance of catching him let alone beat him.
Parties over I’m afraid.
1/5 20% tax free isn’t a bad gamble to be taking for the big punters.

Would be a mircale one of his was withdrawn earlier.
Best chance looks like Madame Solitaire who inceidentally is trading at 1.9 for a place which seems too good to be true (normally means it is) might have some of that.
