Seems the ‘Trends’ trail is throwing up a variety of possibilities so I will post my ‘Trends’ qualifiers:
Sebadee and Deal Done.April 25, 2011 at 10:52 #352063If Beautiful Sound is it not in i be on
ORGANISEDCONFUSED
Though never been this far in terms of the trip i think he see trip out and be up there.
April 25, 2011 at 11:18 #352068The Irish Grand National should be their biggest betting race of the season, yet we still don’t know who is running!
How am I supposed to bet?
How am I supposed to work out my 100% book when I don’t know if the favourite is running? If the decision is early morning fine, but this is far TOO LATE!
Pathetic.
The Irish authorities have shot themselves in the foot.
They have complete contempt for punters.Value Is EverythingApril 25, 2011 at 11:39 #352072Have to disagree Ginge, the owners come first, quite rightly.
If there is a NR should connections of Pomme Tiepy have to sit on the sidelines knowing that their mare could have ran?
April 25, 2011 at 11:43 #352074Fran the man; perhaps I AM your granny and she’s a silver surfer! Anyways, I’m still going to back Hughies Grey, even though my sensible head says not to. Agree about Beautiful Sound…if I knew he was definately running I probably wouldn’t bother to have a bet anyway, as I can’t see him not winning and all my bets wil be for place money only. Whatusee, Caim Hill, Saddlers Storm and Sunnyhillboy are the others I like the look of. Just not sure whether to bother.
April 25, 2011 at 11:47 #352076Have to agree that this is too late a cut-off for determining the actual field. Should have final runners by 10am at the latest IMO.
April 25, 2011 at 12:07 #352082Exactly GD.
I don’t mind the owners of Pomme Tiepy having the opportunity to run if something else comes out early morning. But 1:30 is too late.
Unless something gets injured travelling to the course (unlikely); trainers know (to a reasonable degree) what the ground will be and if their horses are AOK by 10am anyway. So all bar the odd non-runner will be known by that time anyway.
It is one thing to allow owners the best opportunity of running, it is quite another to pxxx on the punters.
Value Is EverythingApril 25, 2011 at 12:28 #352087I still can’t see a jockey booking for Backstage.
April 25, 2011 at 13:24 #352089Paul Carberry on Backstage I think Moe.
The Last Derby for me, good luck all.
