Rigour Back Bob looks very interesting at 14s. Its fair to say he will have trouble turning it around with Voler la Vedette but he’s won over 24 at Punchestown last year and appears to appreciate better ground. He’s not done improving and he got a rough passage at Cheltenham. He lost at least 2 or 3 lengths there and naturally used energy to get going again whereas Mourad had a very smooth passage. I’d expect there is very little between those two and Rigour Back can turn over that form. I can’t see why he’s 14/1, he’s twice the price he should be – literally. He jumps

    very

    crisply too.

The girls are the ones to beat provided Mikael is the shadow he looks to be. Thousand Stars could still be underestimated but I see too much value in Rigour Back and can’t wait for the race now.

Quevega will be hard to beat but maybe this could be the right trip for Dunguib.

I’ve followed Rigour BB for ages and backed him ew at Cheltenham. He will need a really strong pace to allow his stamina to kick in.

Mikael DHaguenet looks the value back over hurdles. Very good value, I hope.

Mikael D’Haguenet is gone at the game IMO. I’d be surprised if he even runs with Mourad, Quevega and Thousand Stars entered for Willie.

The even money about Quevega looks a great price. She didn’t have a race at Cheltenham and holds nearly all of this field on last year’s form.

I expect you’re right, but it may just be the chasing he’s not enamoured with. Mordin, I believe, thought he should have been aimed at the Cheltenham World Hurdle.

Had the biggest bet of my short betting career on Quevega at even money. Absolutely nailed on for this.

Quevega does indeed look nailed on for this after an extremely easy win but why are Paddys going Evens when everyone else is going odds on? Of all the bookies they have the best information into the Mullins yard!

I like the look of Rigour Back Bob who i thought ran an eyecatching run at Cheltenham and given a strong pace will be finishing better than most.

    :)

Thousand Stars doesn’t go and Dunguib is out for the next 12 months (and probably forever at this stage)

Getting on at evens is looking more and more like buying money!

Paddy now going 4/5 with the reduced field.

Im with you Nulty – his jumping is very good and if it stays that way tomoro should go very well and at a good price, looks like he tries 100% every time

Yes, JJM, I know virtually nothing about NH racing but .. why is she not more like 4/9?
This does seem like easy money.

Quevega was tremendously impressive; Willie says she will go for the same races next year. I think it’s a shame she won’t be tried at the more competetive and prestigious 2-mile divsion

Personally i think it’s a shame they do not have the courage to go for the World Hurdle HOWEVER i do understand they all enjoy their day winning the Mares race.

Wonder how much that race cost Paddys going the Evens for so long when the majority were 8/11 and 4/6!!

Say what? About his jumping? He stumbled before the flight. It can happen to any horse – I lost a large chunk on him 14pts on one horse in one race… in my system of betting thats a massive loss for one race. I’m sure he would have been competitive barring a crazy blunder like what happened. They were very positive with him on Friday and I think they were expecting a big run. Wonder what the plan is for next season – I’m getting rather attached to the horse.
