A great performance by Jim Goldie’s game and versatile 4yo filly at Ayr today.
In the past year she has gone from winning a 5f race at Musselburgh to winning there at 2m 4f over hurdles. She also ran a creditable 5th in a Grade 1 novice hurdle at Aintree over 3 miles recently. Today’s win saw her drop down to 2 miles, coming with a late burst to beat Bollin Ruth on the line.
What a testament she is to Jim Goldie’s talents and what a pleasure she must be to own and train.

April 18, 2008 at 20:23 #158598How do you quantify the trainers input from the base ability of the horse?
April 18, 2008 at 21:07 #158604Well, in my book a trainer able to see enough in a horse to find races from 5f to 2m 4f within 10 monhts must be seeing something many wouldn’t.
April 18, 2008 at 21:12 #158605But weren’t her wins on the Flat for David Nicholls and Bob Johnson?
April 18, 2008 at 21:13 #158606Finished like a Dandy sprinter!
Well done to any who backed it.

You are quite right. I stand corrected!

April 19, 2008 at 20:20 #158793Well, whoever used to train her……, she doddled up in the first at Ayr today. The filly seems to thrive on her racing.

April 20, 2008 at 09:45 #158859Thanks Wallace
Your point is made and noted.
