It’s rare even at Ayr or Hamilton for Jim to have a horse go off so short , that last ran caught the eye so badly he may well have to win
January 11, 2023 at 20:40 #1630575To listen to some of you lot, you’d think the game isn’t entirely straight at times at the bottom end.
Chezza’s shocked.

It’s fair to say he likes to punt , esp in e.w doubles , he,s had a break and the horses are coming back slowly , things will go along quietly…. then he’ll have a nice touch , prob one night at Newcastle
January 11, 2023 at 21:34 #1630588I’ve noticed he tends to have winners in batches.
One time he hit a purple patch last summer I linked four in a Lucky 15, three won (all backed) and the last one (33/1) was two-lengths runner up.

January 11, 2023 at 22:13 #1630595I can’t remember tbh – I think it was at Ayr.

There is a danger he won’t run tomorrow so I’m not rushing to back him.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 11, 2023 at 23:22 #1630602The entire RP staff must be reading this forum (at least that’s what I’m thinking on numerous occasions).
7/4 is the RP tissue price and he is only 5/4 with Hills right now. Not bad for a horse with a 29-run losing streak.Joanna Mason is 0-6 lifetime when riding for Jim Goldie and has a 11% strike rate at Newcastle (AW).
Paul Mulrennan has ridden 66 winners from 426 rides for the stable. At Newcastle he operates on a 10% strike rate (83/805).
No matter where he runs next, 5/4 is just too skinny for such a professional loser.
January 11, 2023 at 23:51 #1630605I just took 22/1 Another Angel with my £5 freebet. He’s won 6 times at Newcastle over the distance although not for a while but
he looks the best of a bad bunch.I just keep asking myself why is Mason riding KP and Mulrenhan booked for Friday when he is riding at Newcastle tomorrow.
Surely with the excuses given why the horse ran so poorly last time and the ‘wind’ not a factor he would have been keen to get back on again and prove himself.Looking forward to this one.

The horse has to carry 8st 5lbs in the first of those two races. Mulrennan would have to cut an arm off to do that weight. His profile on the Racing Admin website says that his minimum nowdays is 8-10.

January 12, 2023 at 05:12 #1630607Jim has been known to run horses in consecutive days , la vecchia scuola ran twice and won twice at the scot national meeting many years ago
January 12, 2023 at 09:36 #1630616Thanks ap I didn’t look at the full picture there, now it makes more sense and it’s even more interesting.
He hasn’t had anymore support this morning trading at 13/8 from 6/4 at Paddy Power online.

For the reasons listed above and they are legion.
Ridden on his own merits he is a dubious stayer even at this trip.
It could be windy again, there are multiple course winners in the line up, he will be a ridiculous price, is not proven at this trip.
On another day with a different yard at a different price, he’d be a different proposition.
He could win today ridden by this jockey, but there looks to be plenty of value elsewhere.January 12, 2023 at 14:54 #1630646Just for a laugh iv backed modular magic at 4/1 and Indian sounds at 9/1
If me backing against kraken power can’t get him to win then nothing will
