What an excellent renewal of the Kingwell. All runners have a greater Timeform rating going in to the race than the last four Kingwell winners.
Although it is a difficult race to quantify.
Mille Chief produced a grand handicap performance lat time.
Overturn may get the run of the race and chased home Binocular.
Salviniaco Conti was unsuited by a slow pace last time, yet chased home Menorah and Cue Card.
Ronaldo Des Mottes is not out of it if reproducing last years Totesport Trophy second, but would he have gone for the same race yesterday if in A1 condition?
And people seem to be writing off Celestial Halo, yet this is the venue of one of his best performances in the Elite last season. Does not have to travel today, just down the road. At best, he has the best form of all of them.Probably best to keep the money in my pocket; but a race to savour.

I’ve backed him today but you make an interesting point. From what David was saying on the Morning Line it appears they want to see where they are with him in a graded hurdle.

Value Is EverythingFebruary 19, 2011 at 21:15 #341361A slightly odd result I thought, given it looked like it was going to be close between the top 3 in the betting. Overturn and Silvy seemed well beaten and their odds for the Champion Hurdle have shot up. I haven’t heard any excuses so that seems to be it. Two good horses now not up to the standard required whereas this morning they were thought to be live outsiders for the CH.
