May 22, 2022 at 22:26 #1598911Beautifully bred son of
Frankel out of Queen’s Logic. Both with an unbeaten record in their racing career.I heard Richard Hoiles say he had broken down badly in the race and turned the TV off. Heartbreaking to see his name here tonight so so sad.
Considering his breeding was surprised that he was racing over such long distances and the number of times he had raced. He would have made a brilliant stallion had he not been gelded last year but future results showed he had obviously fallen out of love with the game.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 23, 2022 at 14:01 #1598967Very well said, Jac. I know that some of the Mark Johnston trained horses seem to stand more races during a year, which is also proven by the strike ratio. But I hate to see them running behind the rest for 2-3 seasons and also being gelded when there is no point in it.
May he rest in peace
May 24, 2022 at 01:34 #1599014Such a waste of a beautiful horse wasn’t it Ruby.
He had given them 6 wins off the trot in his best days. Anyone could have seen that those days were behind him and the gelding was senseless and left him with no other choice but to race on or be retired, sadly the latter was not an option for him.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 24, 2022 at 10:14 #1599024He was sold in January this year and had 7 runs since then. I suppose they wanted to get their money’s worth even though, as you say, it was clear he wasn’t the force of old.
May 24, 2022 at 19:12 #1599095Jac, I don’t understand gelding operations that much. They are useful for NH horses, but how many Flat horses really improve after a gelding operation?
Surely, they are easier to work with, but what is the percentage of colts improving after being gelded?
Tonge is right about the owners getting their money back. Quite obvious if it’s a syndicate like Kingsley Park 27.
May 25, 2022 at 15:18 #1599165Like you Ruby I only know they are used to supposedly help a horse focus and if the horse will not be used as a stallion.
Maybe they were considering sending him hurdling.
I still find it hard to believe that they gelded such a well bred horse but all that is irrelevant now that they have lost him.
