COTAI GLORY 25/1
Charlie Hills has strong batch of sprinters over the last few years and at 5f i think he is best one at this trip. famous for jinking at Doncaster as a 2yo.He finish season well with a win at Doncaster and returns to Newmarket today. While he come on for the run he needs ground to be very quick i like him a lot.
April 30, 2016 at 23:06 #1244186WAADY 20/1
Faster ground and a strong pace will suit this fella down to the ground!!
May 2, 2016 at 22:29 #1244400I’m with you there Raymo61,
do we trust the trainer to run him though….?Blackbeard to conquer the World
May 31, 2016 at 10:21 #1248881Just taken the 20’s on Waady as betfred are the last ones standing on the price.
His runs on not ideal going this year gives him a chance if the going is on the fast side. All his best runs seem to have come at Sandown 5f on quick going and that’s not too dissimilar to Ascot 5f. Angus Gold isn’t keen on running both Muthmir and Waady in the same race and seems to think Waady could go 6f. “We could step Waady up to six furlongs. I might mention it to John”
Look at Waady’s 6f form Angus you plonk.
Hope Gosden tells him to sod off…!!!Blackbeard to conquer the World
June 1, 2016 at 22:59 #1249116I just hop Johnny G has the last say Nath!!! Fingers crossed.
June 2, 2016 at 10:12 #1249153I like Profitable for the Kings Stand.
He was progressive at 3 and generally ran well with his Nunthorpe effort one of his poorer outings of the season.
Prior to that he had run a highly respectable 5th to champion sprinter to be Muhaarar in what has been his sole attempt at 6F thus far. He looks a pure 5F horse to me and he’s going places by the look of it, narrowly flooring Mecca’s Angel, who got her ground and was heavily backed last time.
Waady is big odds but can you rely on them not to tit about with the horse again? It seemed ages before they got the message that he’s not a 6F horse, yet now they are talking about that possibility again.
Profitable ran behind Waady last season but this year it has been Clive Cox’s horse who has dished out a couple of defeats to the Gosden contender, perhaps indicating that he may have made the bigger progression.
Rather than guess whether Muthmir or Waady will turn up and who will be the perceived number one, I feel that siding with Profitable is the right call.
Progressive, consistent and developing a nice winning habit the son of Invincible Spirit seems worth following and at 8/1 now he could beat SP by several points. He’ll do for me.
Kings Stand Profitable 8/1
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 9, 2016 at 20:59 #1250563Profitable is 5/1 for the race now.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 9, 2016 at 23:05 #1250587You can still get 7/1 with bet365 Steve!!
Have backed two now PROFITABLE 7/1 WAADY 20/1
Just hope Waady turns up and isn’t re routed!!
June 12, 2016 at 18:10 #1250971Profitable probably could have done without the rain. He may well drift although he did travel well enough at Haydock.
Mecca’s Angel now looks very short. Appears to be being backed as if she is unbeatable on soft ground. Record doesn’t exactly back that up.
June 14, 2016 at 14:02 #1251294Temple Stakes looks key to King Stand Stakes.
Mecca’s Angel‘s Nunthorpe puts her head and shoulders above these, has her ground and if coming on for reappearance could win easily. So is crying out to be backed. At the moment I do believe the York form, seems backed up by times. However, it is as yet a stand out performance, with most of her other runs of a similar (slightly lesser) standard. If you’re ultra critical, this 5f on soft will be more of a test of stamina than before and speed is her forte.
Profitable beat Mecca’s Angel a neck in the Temple, goes on a soft surface, trainer is in really good form and he’s still improving. Although if Mecca’s has come on for that run will need to come on again.
Waady came from further back in the Temple, finishing 2¼ lengths behind the pair. Seems to be settling better this year and if the pace is overly fast could pick up the pieces.
Pearl Secret was only a head further away, but has had plenty of chances at 7 and won’t improve. It’ll be a poor King Stand if he wins.
Neck away 5th Aeolus is probably the best outsider, could yet find a pound or two especially if pace favours him. I’ll be looking at betfair/Tote for him later.
I’ve backed Mecca’s Angel and Waady with a saver on Profitable.
Value Is EverythingJune 14, 2016 at 15:24 #1251316Mecca’s Angel has the form to take this, but 7/4 doesn’t tempt me too much,
I think TAKE COVER at 28/1 5 places with Sky Bet is too tempting. He will go
blazing off, and could be hard to get past with the ground conditions, not many
will come from the rear with a wet sail, it’s properly soft now.My only worry is that it seems those on the far side seem to be holding sway, and
both the above are drawn low in 1 and 5.June 14, 2016 at 15:59 #1251325Well done Stevecaution! Shrewd work from Darley too as they bought the breeding rights to Profitable after the Temple Stakes.
June 14, 2016 at 16:06 #1251327Thats the first bad decision of the meeting for me. Thought about it last night and convinced myself to back just the one, namely, Meccas’s Angel. I even gave a massive neg on her as I thought the Haydock race would have taken a chunk out of her.
Fantastic for Profitable though, its really good to see a horse progress from a decent sort into a group 1 winner the way he has.
June 14, 2016 at 16:51 #1251350Really pleased Profitable’s party wasn’t spoilt by a couple of rags. He didn’t settle as well as he might and on a sounder surface he should be even better.
June 14, 2016 at 17:15 #1251364Well done Stevecaution! Shrewd work from Darley too as they bought the breeding rights to Profitable after the Temple Stakes.
Cheers, I just felt Profitable was developing into a tough looking 5F sprinter who could go close in these big races.
Soft ground and Mecca’s Angel always seems to be like a feeding frenzy for sharks, with punters insanely grabbing any odds. She was 3/1 earlier, her chances were not enhanced any, yet she ended up half the odds by the off. Not a scrap of value in my opinion at 6/4.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
