I just wonder what 10mm of rain does to the chances of a filly who clocked under 57s last time out – that will have been quick ground and/or an easy five.

Regarding ham’s comment, Highfield Princess nets out at OR 122 with her gender allowance, what I’d expect for a bang average Group 1 sprint tbh.

Ah surely you dont believe the 122 rating ian, shes now 6 & even more of a negative being an older filly

But even if you believe she can run to 122, which she might  outwith her, its a terrible, terrible group 1 sprint

As the rain has fallen at Ascot have to give Vadream
a chance in this to at least gain a place.
She beat quite a few of these at Newmarket time before last and you can draw a line under her last race.
Has to step up but place prospects are good…

    Vadream- 40/1 EW

We are 40 miles from Ascot and can hear Thunder coming from that direction..just hope the weather doesn’t result in too many non runners..
Best of luck … Jac :rose:

I rate her slightly, but only slightly, lower, ham – for me, she’s got enough Group 1 form to back it up.

    But we shall see.

Interesting call, Jac, but tbh I suspect the rain may have just erased the word Firm from the going description, but if it’s introduced a bit of Good to Soft you might be in business there.

She fully deserves her rating having beaten sprint cup winner minzaaal in the maurice de gheest

Then giving 2st 10lb to abbaye winner the platinum queen

She will be even better suited to the 5f at ascot than York and is already a royal ascot winner

Unless coolangatta is a monster, which she will need to be being 3 and not getting any weight, only bad luck in running stops the princess from putting the Royal into Royal ascot :good:

I can’t see past her either, FF.

Fast enough to win a Nunthorpe, stays well enough to win a Prix Maurice Du Gheest, this stiff five looks ideal, nothing bothers her, and she ran well under a Group 1 penalty first time out.

She’s no Dayjur, but then neither of the rest of them.

I think Twilight Calls is better than his 2 races this year He was only a
head behind Kings Lynn in the Group 2 Temple stakes and 2nd in this last
year. I hope there’s not too much rain. I think he’s overpriced at 25/1.

Can’t see the stewards will change that best horse won.

Get the French rules in. Bradsell could’ve drifted across the whole track and still keep it ;o)

Result won’t get changed with the runner up saying “I don’t know”

Weaver promoting it saying “you’ll only get a couple of days”
No wonder they never straighten them up in those circumstances
If was in France Hollie straightens the horse or at least tries to, farcical

The first past the post will almost certainly keep it but I wonder if Hollie Doyle could have been a bit quicker pulling the whip through and tried a bit more to keep her horse running straighter?

She has compromised the favourite’s chance and she knows it – but as it stands, she knows under the rules she will probably keep the race if she wins by more than a neck.

I did not have a bet in the race, lest anyone thinks I am talking through a losing betting ticket!

Be more fun if the two jockeys got into a shouting match in the stewards room. As expected unchanged.
