Just thought I would open the thread since I have just backed SO YOU THINK. The Australian import was purchased for a large sum by Coolmore, and will be aimed at the King George and then the Arc.

    8/1 – fill your boots.

Workforce doesn’t have the best price, and So You Think’s is not great for so many unknowns with him. I thnk Cape Blanco is a good bet, and maybe Behkabad.

Bit of a long way off!
But, if there was a horse that would interest me at the moment, I think would be Dubai Prince. Can’t see him being quite ready to win the derby, mentally or poss physically(wait and see with Godolphin), but can see him becoming big player after. Lot of potential.
regarding Cape blanco, i would see him more as o’briens Eclipse runner? Can’t see him taking in many 12 f races this year. IMO.

Make no mistake,Workforce is the best looking horse in Stouteys yard……..he will not lose this!

Workforce’s 2 best wins (Derby & Arc) have come in races with large fields, and Behkabad’s G1 losses have come in large fields (Jockey-Club & Arc), while his best wins (GP de Paris & Niel) have come in small fields. Mordin reckons that the best speed ratings all last year came from Behkabad and Planteur in the Prix Niel, and if Behkabad goes for the King George (typically a small field) this year, will be a much better bet than Workforce.

Workforce has won his races when coming from the back of the field (Maiden, Derby, Arc), they know this now and know the score with him regarding how long he needs between races. He’ll be a force to be reckoned with this year.

So You Think is with AOB so I can’t have him and Bekhabad just isn’t good enough. Will wait to see what happens with the 3 year olds first but doubt I’ll oppose a Derby/Arc winner.

Behkabad isn’t good enough. What? Beat Planteur twice over 12 furlongs, a horse who’s going to destroy everything in the Prince of Wales’, with Victoire Pisa 8 lengths behind. Ignore the Breeders’ Cup run, he was way over the top, and was denied a true crack at the Arc by Fame and Glory. Behkabad and Planteur this year will win 6 Group 1s between them, possibly the Arc included.

If Cape Blanco wins anything decent over 10f this season (which wouldn’t include the Tattersall’s Gold Cup) then I’m in the wrong game.

I’m still a bit shaken by Behkabad and Planteur’s failures after the Prix Niel (although both were unlucky in the Arc). Although I guess one can argue that they were both over the top for their last runs of last year (Breeders’ Cup for Behkabad, HK for Planteur).

Workforce won the Arc but showed that he isn’t an absolute superstar in the process. But if he improves he’ll be hard to beat. So You Think looked an absolute star in Australia and I’m very interested to see how he measures up. His former trainer Bart Cummings has trained for 58 years, winning the Melbourne Cup a record 12 times and calls SYT the best he’s ever trained.

At the prices if I had to get involved I’d take Rewilding at 12s. He’s already shown that he’s trained on from 3 to 4 and his Voltigeur victory and progressive profile suggests he has what it takes to figure.

I think this is Jan Vermeer’s big target. I be very surprised if Coolmore would even dream of putting So You Think in their.

I would be very surprised if Jan Vermeer was targetted at this. Looked a non stayer to me last year. Has huge potential over ten furlongs though.

Worth watching tomorrow. If he (Janvm)makes the usual improvement after tomorrow, his first run, he could be anything.

Judging from last nights race, straight up match between Workforce and So You Think?
