For sure soft ground in the POW brought stamina in to play. But Crystal Ocean’s performance rating in the POW has nothing at all to do with Sea Of Class, Nathan. Has everything to do with how easily he beat Magical – just as easily as Enable beat the same horse in the Eclipse.
Value Is EverythingJuly 27, 2019 at 15:44 #1449501What an spectacular race.
Top three brilliant race horses and Enable is the superstar of the world. Bravo.July 27, 2019 at 15:46 #1449502Hard as nails she is
July 27, 2019 at 15:46 #1449503Brilliant race!
Value Is EverythingJuly 27, 2019 at 15:48 #1449504Great race. Having backed Enable at 7-4 and Waldgeist at 33s for the Arc happy with that. Waldgeist on quicker ground will be interesting.
July 27, 2019 at 15:53 #1449506Crystal Ocean deserves plenty of praise too. But even though he would’ve won me a fair wedge; in the final strides found myself willing the filly on.
Value Is EverythingJuly 27, 2019 at 15:56 #1449508Crystal Ocean is the better horse then
July 27, 2019 at 16:02 #1449511On ratings, Crystal Ocean comes out higher than Enable, Frenchy. However, when talking about the best/better horse, I do believe we should always add the female allowance to that rating.
Just a reminder for those who believe all horses should carry the same weight – Enable would not have won today.
Value Is EverythingJuly 27, 2019 at 16:05 #1449512She is bigger than him so he did well to give away 3lb and finish so close; but the way she got out of trouble and fought for the win was brilliant. She is the best.

Disagree.
Although on paper Enable only won courtesy of her mares’ allowance, she was only just doing enough and would still have won that race at level weights.
Racing isn’t always about the pure numbers.
July 27, 2019 at 16:16 #1449516Brilliant filly
Got caught much further back than normal and won anyway
Frankie only hit her with the whip properly once well over a furlong out and was clearly very confident he was going to win
Normally if a prominent runner got caught that far back they’d have no chance but this is a special horse
July 27, 2019 at 16:23 #1449518Don’t be fooled by the distance, she had loads in hand over a horse in the form of his life.
Frankie didn’t even use the shillelagh in the last furlong, she’s a special filly alright!
It’s a massive ask for her to win a 3rd arc but, if she can, she has to go down as an all time great.
July 27, 2019 at 16:33 #1449519If we don’t know the exact racing weight of a race horse plus the true distance it has travelled in the race, then there is no reason to talk about useless stuff like mares allowances. She travelled further than the runner up and received less “encouragement” from the whip.
I think she has loads in hand…. and would have won if they had carried the same weight.July 27, 2019 at 16:40 #1449521She doesn’t see to do a tap in front these days
Brilliant side angle zoomed in replay on sky sports racing
You can see crystal ocean get his nose back in front then enable eyeballs him and goes again
The only thing that will stop a third arc is a bad draw I reckon
July 27, 2019 at 16:42 #1449522Thankfully this one lived up to the hype. Two great horses putting on a superb display.
Both deserve praise and Frankie deserves a medal for having to change plans, more than
once, and still come through to win. I’d love to see a rematch in the ArcJuly 27, 2019 at 16:50 #1449523One tap of the whip, id say shes got s tad smarter from her 3yo career and knows what she has to do and does only that now, betfair pushed her out to 7/4, brave, most shortened her, whats going to beat her exactly the only two that she hasnt beaten are sotsass and japan? Japan wont be good enough and i highly doubt sotsass will be capable of running 128+
Whoever said the draw could be right, but jesus she had a shocking race today and still won fairly comfortably, always just doing enough!
July 27, 2019 at 17:00 #1449526Such a massive shame about sea of class
Throw her into that race today and it couldve been the best in living memory if all 3 ran to their best
