I think we could all do with a break after ascot week! But where do we think Japan will go now? Available at 7/1 for this. Seems big? I guess the chances of him running are factored into the prices?
June 22, 2019 at 20:30 #1446729My fear is that they go to Longchamp for the Grand Prix de Paris…I hope not, I hope he turns up at Ascot
June 23, 2019 at 09:57 #14467777/1 gone already, best priced 6s. I can’t ignore and will take a chance he runs. I was there on Friday and he looked amazing in the paddock and duly backed it up on course obviously. Likely to be more to come with him and I also agree that he would’ve won the derby with an uninterrupted prep.
Japan 6/1
June 25, 2019 at 11:29 #1446963Can’t resist the 6/1 about Japan.
Looks like he should be peaking in July, gets the big allowance over the 4YOs, Enable & SOC will be half-cooked with the Arc in mind and Crystal Ocean looked to me like that POW would take a fair bit out of him. Half stake now, more again when he’s hopefully confirmed for the race.
June 25, 2019 at 12:26 #1446966Kev, what else could he go for do you know?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 25, 2019 at 12:31 #1446968I read the quote from AOB that says he’ll go either here or the Grand Prix de Paris
June 25, 2019 at 12:48 #1446969Aye GPDP AOB mentioned but that’s a tin-pot Group 1. I’d send Kew Gardens back there personally.
Edit – KG can’t run of course, 3YO colt restricted I’d put Constantinople into that race.
If they want to make a stallion out of this fella and rate him as highly as they seem to, he’ll be running here surely.
June 25, 2019 at 12:58 #1446970Fair point Kev, and looks every bit a good horse. Seems nailed on here comes here for me.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 25, 2019 at 20:52 #1446985Gonna risk the weather improving and the ground being good and go for sea of class at 6/1
We know it’s her target and we are due a few weeks of sunshine
If she wants to win the arc she should really be winning this
June 25, 2019 at 21:05 #1446986This has the potential of some King George this year. Really hope it materialises
June 29, 2019 at 14:03 #1447275I hope that the race gets a good line up this year. I’m another who would love Japan to run here + I might even throw a few pounds his way.
July 6, 2019 at 14:08 #1447803As feared…
Japan to France next week
Anthony Van Dyke going to the King George
July 7, 2019 at 11:26 #1447904Sea of class retired due to cholic
July 7, 2019 at 17:46 #1447936I know that she got a very good ride last week in France, but I do think that Coronet is an interesting entry here at 50-1.
I just hope though that this race gets the field it deserves.
July 15, 2019 at 06:10 #1448608The first two in the market look good- I’ve stayed loyal to Crystal Ocean in the hopes that the closer weights, a truer run race and perhaps a bit more improvement than Enable since last year will allow him to turn around the deficit from their meeting last season.
I’ve also had an EW on Waldgeist– trainer says this is the target. He ran on quite gamely at the end of the PoW and better ground might suit his stature and action.
Crystal Ocean 3-1 win
Waldgeist 16-1 EWJuly 18, 2019 at 12:54 #1448770It’s looking like a slightly disappointing race compared to how it was potentially looking 2 weeks ago but still a good match up between Enable and Crystal Ocean. Can see these easily 1-2 so reverse forecast might be the way to go. However from a single bet point of view, Crystal Ocean is a stand out at 3/1 surely? James Doyle now confirmed to ride so means CO is on target for it. For me Enable still has a little bit to prove that she can match the form of 2 years ago. Sounds a bit silly maybe but just from an RPR point of view she’s not hit the heights of 2017 and Crystal Ocean just put up a career best in the prince of Wales. A repeat of that and I think he’ll win.
Crystal Ocean 3/1
July 18, 2019 at 21:51 #1448793Not a betting race for me
Can see frankie getting a nice prominent position on enable, kicking for home 2 furlongs out and just cast see anything getting past her
Will be a watching brief hoping the superstar filly gets the job done
If I was forced to have a bet I’d back waldgeist each way since he will be getting his preferred ground this time
