    Found it Darren. Didn’t look good but tbh Mason was only asking members of Hartlepool’s general public what made them vote Tory. Not really up to Mason to put the fella right live on TV. If that is his reason then that is his reason. Different if it were a politician getting it wrong. One voter’s mistake is hardly the reason for Labour’s loss anyway. Had it been something blamed on the Conservatives that Labour was responsible for am sure Labour supporters would’ve just laughed at it.

    Ginger not say that the reason for there loss just point it out. You agree with me that the main reason they lost more down to 2019 election with Brexit party / Ukip party split the vote

    Any views on John Bercow I think he speaks well very good on Question time way he put Jenrick in his box. and GMB thos morning to I wonder if good idea for Starmer to get him in team.

    In one way yes I agree Darren, it would’ve been tight had there not been a UKIP vote in the previous election. But I think the news factor here is that Conservatives are the ones picking up that UKIP vote. ie Working class ex-Labour voters who voted UKIP last time are not going back to Labour. It may have been different if Labour now embraced Brexit or what Brexit has brought but they seem to have no vision, full of pessimists and – rather like Remainer Theresa May – Starmer is not trusted with Brexit.

    Only saw about half of Question Time and don’t watch GMB. John Bercow grates on me and probably millions of others. The way he single handedly tried to stop Brexit using his powers as speaker was unforgivable. Never heard a man with such a patronising tone too. If Starmer wants to wave goodbye to those Brexiteer ex-Labour votes for good, then ex-Consrvative Bercow would be a good signing. Think he thought he was back in the House Of Commons, half expected a shout of Or-derrrr!

    @darren83

    If looks likes a genuine error by the poster then they are “unreported”.

    If a poster deletes the content of their post then, I will delete that post.

    Wasn’t it Alf Garnett who said the Morning Star used to be called the Daily Worker until they found out most of the readers are out of work, Dole.

    Please excuse me, I can’t imagine the ‘Woke Left’ since I don’t have a clue what it means. Anyone enlighten me?

    It’s a term invented by the “hang ’em, flog ’em, drown ’em” brigade for anyone that believes we should all work together towards a fairer society.

    No it is not. Although I am not a huge fan of the term due to overuse, it generally describes people who are fully signed up to the identity politics and grievance culture. Issues that are of no concern to the overwhelming majority. And it goes some way to explaining why the Labour Party, dominated by metropolitan types fully signed up to that agenda (including kneeling down Starmer), has completely lost touch with its former heartlands.

    So it isn’t straight forward?

    Google dictionary definition says “alert to injustice in society, especially racism.”

    That could refer to whatever an individual considers injustice, so is ‘open to interpretation’.

    ‘Woke’ is a load of nonsense spouted by those who haven’t got anything meaningful to say. It seems to be presented as a negative trait which I find puzzling given the definition above.

    I think that Andy Burnham would make a good leader of the Labour party and in time a good prime minster. Having won a second term as Mayor of Greater Manchester, his politics are definitely with the people in mind.
