I’m currently working on a handicap system and was wondering if someone could advise me. I know that the Handicapper invariably does a very good job as he, theoretically, tries to frame a race to a deadheat. So my question is ‘which is the most competitive race? Is it a race with the greater weight difference between the top and bottom weight carriers, or is it the race with the least difference between the two? Maybe there’s no difference.

I look forward to any advice and congrats on a very interesting forum.

    Have a look at…

    http://www.britishhorseracing.com/insid … apping.asp

    Download the

    Guide to Handicapping

and then search the document for the word ‘competitive’.
