Nicky Henderson has taken charge of Willmount, Peaky Boy ( beat his new stablemate Persian Time in a PTP prior to winning a bumper ) and £290k PTP winner Break My Soul for Olly Harris
He seems to have a fair amount of novices and a few potential handicap winners but relatively thin on the ground with Grade 1 winners and staying chase winners ( where Nicholls has focused on the the prize money for years )
I wonder if this influenced his side of the argument regarding Constitution Hill’s target because ” what’s the point of going chasing if it’s not for the Gold Cup ” wasn’t mentioned when he sent Altior over fences with future Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D’Air in the stable
The Novice Chases in Britain this season could be even worse than last, with most having Spring handicaps on their agenda
October 26, 2023 at 17:52 #1668110I’d say it’s fair to say that Henderson is more a Champion chase man and Nicholls GC , saying that he does have Shiskin
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 27, 2023 at 10:39 #16681624 runners today in the Nov Chase at Cheltenham – a sign of things to come?
October 29, 2023 at 17:37 #1668560It’s anything but a sign of things to come???? It’s been like this for 20 years
October 29, 2023 at 20:07 #1668573The jumps are here although they never went away but it didn’t take long to find a shenanigans horse in the first at Galway. A horse massive odds on minutes before the off and a horse triple figures as the oncourse opened…… the favourite drifts to 11/8 but wins. the triple figure horse…..second at 50/1 wonder why? Come racing.
And yes I had money on the second as I delved deeper into steward’s reports surrounding debut run and watched second run closely.October 30, 2023 at 09:22 #1668596‘He looks special and is the type of prospect you dream about…’
That was the tagline on the Hendo stable tour with the RP, only available to members. Anyone know who this was referencing?
October 30, 2023 at 09:59 #1668597Haven’t read that yet but they seem to like Jeriko Du Reponet – really well bred PTP winner
October 30, 2023 at 10:12 #1668599That’s the one I’m hoping it is Mark.
October 30, 2023 at 10:45 #1668601At least in part…
“He looks special – he’s stunning – and won his point easily. He’s the sort of horse you dream about and looks pretty mature so should be ready for hurdling. He’s an outstanding prospect, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he can gallop!”
That is Jeriko Du Reponet.
November 20, 2023 at 16:48 #1671142Iroko ruled out for the season. Massive shame given how impressive he was on chase debut recently.
