-£170.
I’m mad that I missed the double figure prices on Vaniteux in the Greatwood. 6/1 now is now value in a large field. I’ll prefer to take the 14s on Goodwood Mirage to follow up his recent Wetherby win.
£10 e/w Goodwood Mirage 14/1.
In the Haldon Gold Cup today, I’ve backed Balder Success. Receiving weight from Cue Card, I’m hoping that King has him spot on today.
£15 @ 10/3
– £200
November 5, 2014 at 10:39 #494549A fair run from Balder, clouting the second last didn’t help though. Maybe just lacked a bit for fitness at the finish.
Some of the markets for the Paddy Power and Greatwood are interesting. Vaniteux is now 5s favourite in places and really should win if he finds the expected improvement you would expect from a horse of his ability on only his 5th start over hurdles. But I can’t back him at that price.
The more and more I look at Goodwood Mirage, the more and more I like his chances. Didn’t fulfil his promise last season, but having had a bit of an MOT over the summer he looked a different horse at Wetherby – winning despite a massive drift from 9/2 to 8s and taking into account Jonjo’s are needing the run it was a huge effort.
With regards to the Paddy Power, I’ve gone off Uxizandre. I don’t know why, I just don’t like him. I don’t like laying horses though, so I’m gonna let my stake ride. I’ve backed Attaglance at 20s, and as long as the ground remains decent he should go close. He’s a bit of a bridesmaid though, but would have beaten Present View at the festival with a clear run – yet Attaglance is over double the price.
The fly in the ointment though could be Ballycasey. I follow one of the Irish Tipsters on twitter and he put up that he’d had a tenner on Ballycasey at 80’s on Betfair as Mullins mentioned in the stable tour that he could look to exploit is mark of 153. With Ricci’s comments about how they are looking to step him down in trip and aim him at the Ryanair, then this looks a solid option. He’s now trading at 16s on Betfair.
£10 e/w Ballycasey @ 16’s with Paddy Power.
November 10, 2014 at 12:53 #494865-£220
Some decent racing on show today, and two bets standout for me.
Firstly, in the graduation chase at Carlisle, Vintage Star is a lovely price at around 7/2. Shutthefrontdoor will have bigger fish to fry this season, and surely cannot be fully wound up for this – and Mickie is making her chasing bow.
The second is at Southwell. Kings Odyssey split Battle Born and Otago Trail in a strong bumper last season is fancied to make a winning debut. A Vos Gardes is respected, but only gives a bigger price on my horse!
£20 Vintage Star at 7/2.
£20 Kings Odyssey at 9/4.It’s crunch time this weekend with the PP Gold Cup and the Greatwood – hopefully a winner will get this thread back into the black!
-£260.
November 10, 2014 at 18:52 #494890With regards to the Paddy Power, I’ve gone off Uxizandre. I don’t know why, I just don’t like him.
You can see why you have gone off
Uxizandre
Blunkett if you interpret his Aintree seasonal debut as literal…..I dont,I think we’ll see a ‘JLT’ type performance this weekend and fully expect a place at worst.12/1 is a solid e/w price still imo.Good Luck with the thread,it aint easy is it?
November 12, 2014 at 12:43 #494986It certainly isn’t TAPK!
And it looks like our old friend Uxizandre could run on the Sunday to compound misery even further.
Mr Ricci has been talking up Allez Colombieres again yesterday. This is Mullins’ Supreme horse, and I’ve decided to join th bandwagon.
In addition to this, the Neptune horse is Tell Us More. Smashed a bumper in Ireland earlier this year, and I urge people to look up his PTP success too. The way he quickened after nearly taking the wrong course around a dolled off fence was breathtaking. He’s this years Faugheen!!
£25 Allez Colombieres @ 10/1.
£30 Tell Us More @ 20/1
November 14, 2014 at 12:32 #495107Tremendous weekend’s racing.
Blacklion is a horse I’ve been impressed with so far in his two runs. A more galloping type than The New One, who won this race previously for the same connections – but that isn’t an issue today as stamina will probably be at a premium. He ought to defy a penalty.
£30 Blacklion @ 7/4.
The two mile handicap chase is a belter today too – with any number of winners possible. I’ll be taking a chance on Rio De Sivola. Lightly raced, lightly weighted and could have plenty of scope for improvement.
£12.50 e/w Rio De Sivola @ 25/1.
Big weekend too for a couple of ante post pokes:
£15 Uxizandrew @ 14s – dead
£7.50 e/w Attaglance @ 20s
£10 e/w Ballcasey @ 16s – dead
£1- e/w Goodwood Mirage @ 14s– £330
November 16, 2014 at 10:38 #495412And now Goodwood Mirage is a non runner to add to Attaglance yesterday. I love rain.
November 24, 2014 at 14:08 #496298-£330.
Ante post bets this weekend are:
£20 on Djakadam at 10s
£10 e/w Theatre Guide at 33s.But bizarrely the latter has been scratched from the race. Really depressing stuff that, as I thought he ran an excellent trial over an inadequate trip LTO.
Some good racing today, West Wizard has been stuffed again the West Wizard Novice Hurdle.
I’ve just out up Mayfair Music at 25/1. Proven over the three miles trip, and most of her rivals are not. A lots to find with Polly Peachum from. Ratings perspective, but I’ll take the chance with the price offered. And with Hendo’s horses running strangely today, weirder things have happened.
Tell Us More ran well at the weekend, happy with the 20s. Allez Colombieres is out this week. I might put up Kalkir for the triump soon, as Ricci is quoted as saying they’re gonna skip a maiden and pitch him straight up in a grade three FTO. Says a lot imo.
November 24, 2014 at 14:09 #496299£10 Mayfair Music at 25/1.
November 25, 2014 at 17:44 #496430-£340.
With the price on Djakadam already secured and Theatre Guide not going, I’m going to add Unioniste at 25/1 I think. Winter ground will help, and Nicholls is really firing in the big race winners.
In addition, I’ve mentioned on another thread that Allez Colombieres may be running in the Royal Bond on his debut at the weekend. Either way, he’s been backed already. I think he could be something special from all reports.
The same goes for Kalkir. Entered in a Grade 3 on Sunday on the same card after missing a Maiden hurdle last weekend.
£10 Unioniste @ 25/1
£30 Allez Colombieres @ 10/1
£20 Kalkir @ 14/1.-£400. Ouch.
November 27, 2014 at 15:07 #496586Fehily booked for Unioniste – happy with that.
I’m off to Newbury on Saturday, looking forward to it. Only been once before and that was to the Friday of the Greenham meeting this year. Had 6 losers, had my photo taken with Hayley Turner and saw Her Majesty. A mixed day for certain.
Le Mercurey makes his debut for PFN in about 20 minutes. He’s been talked up as a dark horse in a lot of places this season. Was 4/1 this morning, but now trading at 7s. I’ll have an each way dablle on that with the dead eight running.
£10 e/w @ 7/1.
– £420
November 27, 2014 at 18:56 #496603-£340.
In addition, I’ve mentioned on another thread that Allez Colombieres may be running in the Royal Bond on his debut at the weekend. Either way, he’s been backed already. I think he could be something special from all reports.
I am hoping Allez Colombieres runs in the Royal Bond, as it will show confidence in the horse starting at that level this season. He was my early pick for the Supreme Novices and I have him in my Ten To Follow with Djakadam, Rocky Creek and More Of That, so it could be a decent weekend for me if I can get a few winners there, although obviously only one can win the Hennessey.
Allez Colombieres has drifted out slightly for the Royal Bond, with his stable mate Nichols Canyon being the one for money of the two Mullins horses. Allez Colombieres is also entered in the maiden that opens the card at Fairyhouse the day before the Royal Bond, a race that is over 2f further and worth 40 grand less and I’ll be a bit disappointed if he starts there rather than the better race which The Tullow Tank won last season.
Best of luck with him in your ante-post bets and with the thread in general.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
November 28, 2014 at 12:59 #496676Allez Colombieres is declared for the Royal Bond, and, importantly it would seem, has Ruby Walsh on board. Paul Townend is on Nichols Canyon and the betting that showed the former horse at 13/8 yesterday has now changed to 4/5 with Paddy Power, who were first to reform the market this morning.
Allez Colombieres wears a first time hood and I am hoping for a good show from him on Sunday.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
December 2, 2014 at 17:25 #497193Ballycasey taken out of the John Durkan and seemingly runs in the Tingle Creek on Saturday. I mentioned on another thread that The Riccis don’t have anything for the Champion Chase, well now I reckon they do. With doubts about Sprinter Sacre and Sire De Grugy, I reckon the two mile division is wide open. It’s worth taking a chance, especially as Ballycasey is as low as 7s with Paddy Power (who has some really interesting prices for a lot of Mullins runners).
£30 Ballycasey 14/1 for the Tingle Creek.
£20 Ballycasey 16/1 for the Champion Chase. Some interesting prices for the Becher Chase on Saturday too, and I’m chancing Across The Bay and Benbens. The former ran well for a long way in last years a Grand National and is on a decent mark. NTD does well in this race and only has the one entry.
£15 Benbens 20/1
£15 Across The Bay 25/1-£500!
December 2, 2014 at 20:30 #497212Backed Ballycasey at 25s on Betfair for Saturday, just for a tenner. He had been matched above 30/1 but I was too greedy and put in a tenner at 40. The fear with him is that he won’t run. If he’s declared there’s no way he’ll go off 14/1.
I had him down as a stayer and backed him at 25/1 for the RSA last season. He travelled really well and I thought he looked the winner for most of the race but he ran out of steam. He’s definitely worth a try at two miles, especially on soft ground, given his high cruising speed.
December 4, 2014 at 18:51 #497382Well Jesus Christ Willie has done me again.
Deputy Dan runs tomorrow, but I can see Saphir beating him over 2m3 and with the weight advantage.
However, i can’t see why DD is still 33s for the RSA. Second in the Albert Bartlett, will be 7 next spring, which is the correct age for the RSA winner. Bobs Worth, O Faolains Boy, Weapons Amnesty all ran in the AB at the previous festival and then won the RSA.
I’m going in again. £10 e/w @ 33s.
-£520
December 6, 2014 at 13:11 #497646£15 Home Run 4/1.
£10 Dawalan 5/1
£7.50 e/w Across The Bay 50/1-£560.
